To combat with these issues, both government and the society need to intervene through the initiatives targeted towards improving the mental state of homeless people, providing them with well-earning jobs, and making them productive citizens of the society. In this regard, some policy programs have been put in practice by the government, as well as by some organizations as temporary intervention measures. Some of those intervention measures include Transitional Housing Program for Homeless Young Adults, HIRE Ground, Youth Care Organization, and Second Chance Job Readiness Program.

All of these programs aim towards improving the well-being of young adults by working with their psychological and emotional state and getting them ready for jobs. Over the past many years, homelessness has become a critical issue for the United States and for all developed countries of the world. In the United States of America, the number of homeless people has been on the continuous increase in many states. According to Bloom (2010), the government of the United States has introduced a foster care system to meet the housing and employment needs of homeless youth.

Although the government of the United States has taken some steps to overcome this issue by introducing foster care systems and transitional housing programs for youth, more attention needs to be given to this issue in order to save the society from the negative effects of homelessness. A number of challenges have been explored already related to homeless youth, particularly the ones related to job readiness which is the reason why the federal, local and state legislators have come up with the recommendations and policies to improve the well-being of homeless young people.
