Introduction The world without weapons can be a safer place except in the hands of law enforcers. Weapons can lead to mass destruction. The development of weapons for destruction has been the main priority for sophisticated mankind. Weapons are threats to life. The Gun Foundation even says that guns saves life. But real truth is weapons takes more life than it saves. Weapons such as handgun or pistol can be kept by humans as a safety. But it should be banned and stopped because everyone cannot be trusted of using pistol or handgun. This essay will discuss the effects of weapons and it should be stopped to be sold in United States. This can save thousands of lives and make world a better place. Thesis statement “Stop selling weapons to save lives in United States”. Discussion Deaths cause by firearm weapons in United States are 30,708 in the year 1998. And it is quite shocking to see that more than 31,076 Americans are killed with guns. It can be by unintentional shooting, suicides or homicides. So it has been calculated that more than 85 people dies every day and every hour more than three people dies. And this isn’t the end even more than 73,505 Americans were in hospital for fatal gun-shots. Weapons especially guns are used in the society for celebration, hunting and for murders. Guns are used as self-protection but it can often lead to deaths. Guns are also used by the drill team and by police force to defend the country. It is right to use weapons to protect themselves and their prized asset. But it shouldn’t be used to take lives. In 2010, it has been reported that around 11,078 homicides uses weapons i.e. guns in the United States. Around 35% of deaths are caused by guns. Firearms weapons are the third main cause of death nationwide. It has also been found that 73,505 Americans are treated in hospitals due to gunshot wounds. From the year 2005 to 2010, around 4000 United States people die from unintentional gun firing. Weapons can lead to huge mass deaths which are not good for the mankind. Every people have right to live and project themselves from undoing but weapons are not the solution to keep them safe. Weapons can be of different kinds and are harmful in their own ways. Selling of assault weapons should also be stopped (Forge 256). There are many shooting incidents that that shook the country. One of the incidents was the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary. About six adult staff members and 20 children were killed during the incident. The man behind this incident was Adam Lanza. This brutal massacre would not have been possible without assault weapons. These weapons should not have been held by American citizens. There are many massacre incidents that took place over the years. And the list of the mass shootings goes on and on. This shooting would not have been possible if the culprit had not obtained illegal weapons. Many people should have been saved if selling and these weapons should have been banned. Many would say that no matter what is done to stop selling and using these weapons, still these disturbed people would find a way to get these weapons. But nevertheless many innocent people lives would have been saved. Banning and stopping the sale of these weapons would help United States. It is totally impractical to keep these weapons for defense. If this weapon goes to wrong hands these can extremely dangerous. The Gun Owners Foundation states that weapons i.e. guns helps more people to save their lives than that of taking lives. But this is clearly untrue due to the fact that using guns for self-defense is extremely dangerous as it can take many lives than it saves. And the real fact is that weapons that are used in violence can costs billion dollars to the nation. Selling of these weapons can save billions of money. The Gun Foundation also suggests that armed citizens are not harmed by criminals. But it can increase suicide or homicide. People having guns in their home are more three times possible to have a homicide and five times possible to commit suicide. Suicide may not be crime but it can take innocent lives.The head of household who have gun for their safety are not trained to use guns and it may lead to accidental shooting. In United States, around 192 million people have privately owned guns. And out of which 65 million people have handgun for their safety. And around 1-3 million of illegal guns are sold. This means that criminals can get dangerous guns. There should be stricter for gun control as it cannot be eliminated. Weapons are very unsafe of households. Guns used by households with children are forty percent. Well many accidents have happened due to gun in the houses. Guns can take many young lives. There are thousands of incidents that took place due to the availability of weapons in the house. Around 1,400 young people commit suicide by guns and 1,600 young people are murdered by guns. If these weapons are banned then these innocent young people and kid lives had been saved. These numbers should bring fear in to the mind of parents so that guns and weapons are not kept in the houses. This shows that how dangerous weapons can be. It should be stopped and banned. Wal-Mart has introduced guns, rifles and ammunition in their stores to be available for customers. This is really sad as it can take many human lives. Annual revenue of Wal-Mart is $218 billion. And it doesn’t require to entry in to weapon segment to ensure its success. Every bullet and guns sold can cause human life. There are many incidents that caused due to the start of ammunition sales. In 2001, Laura Gassaway entered one of the Wal-Mart stores to buy bullets. But clerk of the store refused to sell bullets because she doesn’t have firearm ID card. Then Laura Gassaway started to uplift every item. Security officers call police to take her outside of the store. She took her gun out of the purse and shoots three guards then police finally came and killed her. This incident would not have happened if Wal-Mart had stopped selling weapons and ammunition. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the world so they don’t require adding ammunition and guns in their stores to increase revenue. Selling of weapons should be stopped to save human lives. The second amendment states that it is right for only militia to use weapons. But people in favor of gun states it is every people right to have a weapon for their safety. There have been many arguments about the amendment but real statement only says that it is only militia who can use weapons not every people. Selling weapons should be banned and stopped. It should be only used by militia. People can keep their safety from themselves. Guns and weapons are not required to keep safe. It can only take lives not save them. Conclusion Weapons can pose a great threat in the world. Some people might say that guns help to provide safety. But the negative aspects of weapons are more than that of positive aspects. There should be strict gun control law that could avoid criminals to get deadly weapons. United States people should fear the worst case of keeping guns in houses. Weapons are not safe as it can take life of innocent people. Wal-Mart of United States should stop selling weapons and ammunition. World will be much better place without weapons.
