Bloodhound Project Team As human resources manager, I have been asked to constitute a four-member team for the Bloodhound Project team that will attempt to establish a land speed record in the desert in a high stress 1-hour turnaround period. I have already selected one member and am in the process of identifying the remaining thee members of the team. To select the team members, I have used the team-role profiles, critical for the success of a project, as developed by the Bilbin Associates (2000).

The profile test shows that the member who has been already on board adequately fits four profiles: a coordinator, shaper, monitor, and specialist. Other members will have to fill up the remaining five profiles. I am working hard to ensure that the three people fill up these five profile gaps: Plant (creative genius), team worker, completer-finisher, resources investigator and implementer. All these profiles are vital for the success of the Bloodhound Project. In particular, the team will certainly needs a creative and unorthodox member who can find solutions as problems arise in a high-stress and high-risk project.

A resource investigator will be necessary to mobilize management and public support and raise resources for the project. The third member must be the combination of a disciplined and reliable implementer as well as a painstaking and anxious completer-finisher. I will try to make sure that all three additional members are good in teamwork, which is also essential for the success of the project. In sum, to establish a land speed record in a desert in a short time, the Bloodhound Project will need a team that meets all nine team-role profiles and that can work seamlessly together.
