It only took us twenty minutes to get to a place. We finally got there and saw a perfect parking spot just close to the asphalt rocks that introduced visitors to the oceans.

There is a lot that I could see and feel at the beach. First was the beautiful white sand whose high heat penetrated through the soles of my sandals. It was so hot that we had to walk in and out of the water to cool down.

However, this was not anything out of the ordinary. We could also see the high waves further from the sea and were amazed at how they became smaller as they approach the shores. I was also perplexed by the utter beauty that I saw in the skies, and how the beautiful blue skies seemed to meet the equally clear blue ocean water further into the oceans. The blue deep blue ocean color amazed us. It created an extraordinary piece of art with a beautiful reflection of the skies in the water. I could have stood there to see this beauty for eternity.

It was a busy beach day as different people, both young and old, set camp along the coastline. There were umbrellas all around. I was dismayed by the display of color as these beach lovers wrapped their waste with different types of towels. Some were orange, green, black, white, red, and cream. Other people had a mixture of different colors on their towels, which created a somber mood at the beach, making us feel like we were in the right place.

We had to walk for a while along the ocean water and past many people before we found a perfect spot by the water. We considered it a perfect spot since it was under a beautiful umbrella tree that created an ideal shade for all of us. At least we would escape the wrath of this scorching sun that only favored those who visited the place for some sunbathing by the water. So, we all took out our lovely towels, and perfectly laid each next to another in preparation for our long-awaited rest.

We slowly slipped into a deep slumber for what we thought was some thirty minutes. It was the most peaceful sleep I had ever had for a long time. Whoever thought that sand could be a very comfortable cushion? For some time, we forget about our worries or insecurities and presented ourselves to Mother Nature for protection against the ocean water.

Interestingly, the ocean water had started changing its color since the evening was already approaching. The breeze had also increased as the waves formed more frequently than before. Our only worry was that the ocean water was already getting cold since the sun was slowly creating room for the moon. However, we still went ahead to soak ourselves in the waves as the ocean water repeatedly pushed us back to show.

We also joined some people in fun games. One of the games I enjoyed was volleyball on the sand beside the ocean water. I enjoyed the few minutes we spent playing the game. Being rookies meant that we kept missing the volleyball when it was hit toward our end.

However, we tried, and that was all that mattered to us. It was interesting to know that such misses were the ones that created fun for everyone as people laughed and hugged whenever one side messed up. We even left with a couple of contacts from the friendships we had made through these interactions.

I loved this day since it brought together both adults and kids in equal numbers. At least we could get random “hi” and byes from these ‘tiny’ people — kids — as they ran past us. Some created a fun scene, especially when they raced against the waves. Other people, mostly children, had to be forced to walk or jump into the water, but they cried because the water had already become too cold for them. However, it still has that deep blue color that made someone desire to swim deeper into the dangerous zones.

I felt a lot of peace by the time I left the place. All my anxiety and fears faded away. I had exposed myself to positive rather than negative stimuli. At least I was ready for all the challenges that awaited me in the new week. I got back home exhausted but overwhelmed by so much happiness.

I had started dosing off by the time we were homebound and only had to see my bed before I could swiftly dive deeper into slumberland. It was a fantastic day worth repeating for eternity. It is a story that perfectly gets into “A Day at the Beach Essay”. I would be back at the place soon. I saw glitters of magic on this day.
