I usually teach using an already populated calendar, with all planned activities and schedules already filled. The documentation acts as an accurate guide, allowing me to be right in my teaching methods and able to deliver as expected. It is integral to possess a plan or schedule. Without a plan, you might not be able to run things smoothly as every child needs an easy transition from one event to another. Without a doubt, children operate better when they are aware of the schedule, meaning they know what to expect. This means that they are able to have some sense of control in their routine, which is a perfect methodology for teaching discipline.

Since I am a firm believer in planning and sticking by a program, I believe that a family must be aware of what is happening every day. In my calendar, you will find activities planned amazingly well. I have short term and long-term goals well integrated into my schedule with accurate dates. These goals apply to the entire classroom and every child individually. My co-worker and I seamlessly shift duties, which easily allows us to take care of the needs of the whole class and individual students. We do this through various means:

  • We are able to facilitate the pre-structured program in its entirety and even create time for personal interaction with our students.
  • Another integral element that makes us such a good team is that we are open to one another. We share ideas and respect each other opinions.
  • We are also quite receptive to ideas coming from other co-workers that help build our plan.

Keeping tab of all our activities is amongst my core priorities. This task involves making sure that all documentation is accurate, and assessments are also done on time.

Essential Elements that Strengthen My Competency

On top of everything else that I implement through the schedule and with my co-workers, I am a fantastic organizer with the capability of maintaining proper records. Everything from family data and any relevant form are readily available on request from our classroom filing system. I ascertain that I make daily notes on every student in my class so that each one is able to communicate effectively with their parent about their progress.

Among the tools I utilize for schedule management are assessments, mostly via observation. I always document anything impactful, continuously improving my record-keeping methods. Since I always document everything, I can always protect my school legally. On top of that, it helps me follow through parent’s concerns when they pose sensitive questions about their children’s progress.

It is essential to have a proper correspondence channel with co-workers and everyone else that I interact within my professional life. Every record I keep is vital to creating sound assessments for my student as well as make suitable lesson plans that will be able to care for their needs. The main idea behind all of this is that I track every child’s development and learning needs.

I always take photos and add to their portfolios so that parent and guardians can observe their child at the moment. I practice accurate record keeping, which I have mastered over time. This activity allows me to have proper documentation at any time that is required, whether it is during the parent-teacher conference or any other meeting.
