1. This idea is very relevant. In the case of Scott Peterson, DNA played a major role in his conviction last year for murdering his wife. The DNA taken and compared with her mother’s was the only link the prosecution had in following through with its case. DNA can often talk for a victim when other circumstances prevent such things from occurring.
2. Stem cell research has become a very hotly debated subject in the country, especially in California. Scientists have come forward to offer up the potential for real hope in the idea of stem cells giving way to a cure for ailments like Parkinson’s, or MS. The other side, or the “Right to Life” group has ventured forward to protest the use of one life to potentially save another, claiming there is no real evidence. Essentially comes down to the question of “When does life begin?” It’s been widely said that stem cell research in itself has been taken on to a level of usage for political purposes. Politicians take stances to appease their political base. Scientists also have their stake in this debate because it is bound to be a major scientific breakthrough for the lone scientist(s) who achieve the scientific goldmine. That is, they are the ones who are able to find the ‘missing link’ and cure Parkinson’s, MS, or any other ailment that stem cells are found to be able to cure. It is still early, but there surely will be more debates about and discussions on this topic in the months and years to come.

Hypothesis: Stem cell research, when given time, may be the missing link in offering up a cure for multiple devastating ailments for those who suffer from them.
