A Summary on the article 'Taskforce sets up to call for coordinated strategy' A na chnology taskforce recently conducted its first assembly to elevate science and take a shot at convincing the government to pay more attention in making a more rational policy to advance nanotechnology in the United Kingdom says Mediaplanet. Chairman of the taskforce Ian Gibson, former Chairman of the Science Select Committee, and Ravi Silva, co-founder of the taskforce, and Head of the Nano-Electronics Centre at the University of Surrey, have seen the need of the UK to be more updated when it comes to nanotechnology.

They believe in its full potential to uplift UK economy. It also offers answers to most of the biggest issues of today, claimed Silva. The Council of Science and Technology found a few points to be improved in the government's nanotechnology agenda. The reports suggested that thorough research on toxicology of nanotechnology needs more funding, and if not released will make UK economy suffer. The authors of the report proposed for a 5 to 6 million to be spent yearly for the next ten years to assure the safety of nanotechnology.

In light of the future cooperation in the international scene, CTS also proposed to the government to take necessary actions in retrieving its leadership in nanotechnologies.
