Role The Network Engineer Operations will be a major part of Google’s life support framework that ensures that service is delivered to its users and returns is availed to its customers. The Network Engineer operations officer will be responsible for the facilitation of the smooth running of Google’s large and complicated global production network. The Network Engineer is vested with the responsibility of ensuring that the network is available and running well and supporting the traffic that exists between the end users and Google. The Network Engineer is also vested with the role of ensuring that the internal traffic is related to Google’s rapidly growing infrastructure. The Network Engineer will be in a position of high severity of network impacts that combine excellent troubleshooting, network management skills and communication that are needed to accelerate problem resolution and serve as a vital point of interaction between internal groups, network peers and vendors. The Engineer will also be in a position to facilitate the use of complex and ever changing array that constitute of both Google proprietary and industry standard technologies that make sure that Google’s production network moves to be a standard of reference for performance and reliability. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Network Engineer transcend: The monitoring of performance and network stability and makes sure that the operations operate 24/7 and resolve service impacts as they take place. Augment Google’s internal application groups through troubleshooting issues that involve the network. Serve as a link between the vendors and network peers by acting as contact that facilitates the handling of reports and relations. Act as the person who communicates network status and technical issues. Oversee and perform planned network maintenance and thus minimize the effect on Google services. Requirements BA/BS in a discipline and network certifications like; JNCIE/CCNA/JNCIA-CCIE (or work experience of the same). A minimum of 3 years experience together with ISP network operations tier 1-2 or IT/enterprise network infrastructure. Excellent written English and oral communication skills (Foreign language fluency is an added advantage). Knowledge of the fundamentals of TCP/IP, network routing protocols such as (MPLS, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS) and optical a plus (physical infrastructure). Ability to make use of excellent troubleshooting skills and problem solving abilities during periods of heavy workloads. Hands on experience with Linux/Unix administration together with coding/scripting as an added advantage. Willingness to be at work during weekends and outside normal business hours (that is 4-day weeks). 2.) Title: Solution Designer- Infrastructure- Unix, VMware, TCP/IP, Oracle Company: Candle Position description The person would be part of a team that takes care of infrastructure architecture and design. This would transcend through design, deployment and the management of storage, server, back-up, infrastructure operating environment, network hardware and data centre. Requirements: The person must be equipped with the following technical experience: Storage design – replication, switch and storage arrays. Unix (HPUX, Solaris, AIX, Red Hat) Windows operating system and server. Programmer A programmer or coder or a computer programmer is a person who comes up with computer software. The term can also refer to a specialist in a single area of computer programming. It may also refer to a generalist who writes computer code for many types of software. A person who professes a given type of programming is also referred to as programmer analyst (Cummings et al, 2005). The following are examples of programming languages; Delphi, Java, C, Lisp, C etc. Programmers are usually prefixed by the type of language they write in. The term could also be used to refer to software engineers, software developers, software analysts and computer scientists. It has also been noted that the members of this profession possess other skills beyond programming. Computer programmers write, debug, test and maintain detailed instructions that are referred to as computer programs. Computer programs are instructions that are followed by computers to perform their functions. Programmers also come up with, design and test logical structures that are used in solving problems by computers. Many technical innovations available in programming have redefined the functions of a programmer and increased a large amount of programming done today.
