BY MONTH YEAR Bray, Gerald L. The Doctrine of God. Downers Grove: Intervarsity Press, 1993. Gerald Bray is a professor of Divinity History and Doctrine at Beeson Divinity School in Alabama. In 2006 his position at the seminary became a research position where he focuses on research, writing, and speaking. In this book, the author introduces evangelical theology, and the Trinitarian existence of God. Basically, Bray talks about the nature of God, theology, and Trinitarianship. By engaging readers into an eastern orthodox tradition, Bray distills the fundamental nature of evangelical theology. “By ‘God,’ the gospel means whoever and whatever it was that raised Jesus from the dead. Thus the specificity also of God is an historical specificity. The focus on dynamic event rather than static substance continues in his systematic theology.”
Lindbeck, George A. The Nature of Doctrine: Religion and Theology in a Postliberal Age.

Lindbeck George is an American Lutheran theologian and a BA graduate from Yale University. In his pursuit of medieval knowledge, Lindbeck picked an interest in matters related to the church, and thereafter, he became one of the fathers of postliberal theology. He has since then been among the most influential figures in the religion and theology scenes. In this book, Lindbeck focuses on the nature of the doctrine of theology in a postliberal age. By exploring a couple of theories in ecumenism, Mariology, and Christology, the author engages the Readers in a theological conversation. “The demand for competence is the empirical equivalent of insisting on the spirit as one of the texts of doctrine”.
Marshall, I. Howard. New Testament Theology: Many Witnesses, One Gospel. Downers

The author, Howard Marshall is a professor Emeritus of the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Marshall is known for his broad understanding of the New Testament as he was the chair of the fellowship if European evangelical theologians and the president of the British New Testament society. As seen in most of his works, Marshall begins by introducing the New Testament theology, comparing the content of the various books. The author clearly explores Paul’s letters, the gospels and the rest of the epistles. Marshall’s theology represents the messages of the various books in the New Testament, speaking to a broad audience of readers. “It appears that this gospel attributed to Mathew was assembled by someone who was both a scribe and a sage of sorts. Like the author of the fourth gospel, he wants to present the story of Jesus in a sapiential way, but unlike the fourth evangelist, he wants to do it by means of a very conventionally Jewish way of presenting the material.”

Mark Smith, the author of this journal is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Adjunct Professor of Communication at the University of Washington. His research generally consists of political waves in America, but is not intended to influence the government in one way or another. His intent is rather to educate cultural and political trends in America. His intended audience is working professionals in counselling and sociology. This article compares the conservative and liberal arguments on how divorce has impacted the American Christian Family and the culture in which we survive. This particular argument in how the church, and Christians at large, are responding to divorce and how the “liberals” are using this against the values of Christians and the families affected by divorce. This is relevant to my research, as I am looking at the cause and affect divorce has on the family, church, and community and in order to do so I am looking at the history of divorce and its dissolution over the past 100 years. “With the underlying causes affecting Christians and non-Christians alike, the national divorce rate reached nearly 20 percent by the 1920s as a rising wave of marital breakups more over and around barriers build by religious institutions.”
Stedman, Ray C. Spiritual Warfare: Winning the Daily Battle with Satan. Grand Rapids,

Stedman Raymond was an evangelical pastor born in North Dakota. Having been raised by an asthmatic mother, Stedman planed to pursue a career in the medical field, but was forced to drop out because of financial difficulties. It was after he was married that he ventured into the evangelical ministry, serving as a staff in the Peninsula Bible Fellowship in California. His book focuses on the spiritual warfare that most Christians undergo in their daily lives as they try to remain righteous. In this book, he speaks of the tactics of terror used by Satan, and ways to resist temptations. He clearly states that people ought to know that there is a battle between that good and evil, and therefore, Christians ought to stand strong in order to survive. “The experience of spiritual battle is not unique to certain Christians, but rather to all who seek to live godly in Christ.”
