The fact of similarities between them is well established, if one considers the fact that the prophecies of the Old Testament were fulfilled in the New Testament. The several ways that the passages of the New Testament and the Old Testament bear similarities shall be elaborated in this paper. Events like the Passover and the Last Supper justify the similarities between the New Testament and the Old Testament. The lives of great people in the Bible like Moses, David, Elijah, John and Jesus can also be used as a basis for comparison between the Old and the New Testament. The Last Supper was also a feast of unleavened bread just like the Passover in the book of Exodus. This is a clear sign that the Last Supper of Jesus with his twelve disciples evolved from the Passover in the book of Exodus. Another way that the New Testament fulfilled the prophecy or interpreted the message of the Old Testament was in the life of Moses. From the events that took place in the Bible and the characters of notable people in the Bible, it has been clearly shown that the New Testament is an interpreter of the Old Testament. The Old Testament and the New Testament were written by different authors that lived through different timelines, but the fact that the Bible as a whole was inspired by God shows that there must be a link between the Old Testament and the New Testament and it is this link that has been proven and established in this paper. ...Download file to see next pages Read More

Old Testament and New Testament

... experience. After this, Saul changed his name to Paul and became the first well-known missionary to go out into the world. Hebrews The book of Hebrews was written by an anonymous author. Many historians think that Paul may have been the author, but this cannot be proven beyond doubt. This book is known as one of the epistles because it was written as a letter to the Hebrews. The main theme of Hebrews is a continuation of the teachings of Jesus that were previously found in preceding books of the New Testament. In the first chapter of the book, it was taught that Jesus was not an angel, but a servant from God. Throughout the middle chapters, a lesson was shown. Jesus is God, but became a man and is now our priest. In the Old Testament...

Encountering the Old Testament

... of Genesis indeed emphasizes the corporeal and infirm nature of human existence (Genesis 3:19 The New International Version), existence of the soul was unambiguously recognized, and the concept of the resting peace of the dead was present in the Old Testament’s view of the universe (Psalm 16:10 The New International Version). The immortality of human soul is thus asserted, not denied. While the Sheol, or the place of the dead, was considered bleak and hopeless dwelling, the concept of God’s deliverance from misery was applied to this kind of afterlife as well. For instance, David calls for God’s assistance beyond the grave in one of his Psalms (Psalm 139:8 The New International Version). At the same time, Sheol was considered a synonym...

Old Testament Prophets

A study of the scriptures shows that Joseph and Mary were David’s descendants even though their family lineages are different. The fulfillment of the conditions of the covenant by man was very crucial since, fulfillment led to blessedness while failure to fulfill or obey led to discipline or curse. The prophetic message or utterance entails forth telling, which is the explanation of current occurrences and foretelling, which entails what will happen in the future. God’s relationship with the children of Israel through covenants necessitated the prophetic utterance of the Old Testament prophets, correcting them when they strayed and encouraging them when they felt discouraged. In the book of the major prophet Jeremiah, the results...

The Unity of the Old and New Testament

...?Insert Introduction Scholars from some religious circles other than Christianity have questioned the orthodoxy of New Testament teachings, charging that the New Testament is a radical departure from the Old Testament. On the contrary, a study into the Old Testament reveals a surface and covert interrelationship between the two major divisions of the Bible. This is to the effect that the interrelationship between the two is characterised by a complementary relationship, and not a contradictory one. This shall be seen forthwith, by narrowing the scope of this discussion to two books of the New Testament: the Gospel according to St. Matthew and the Revelation of St. John the Divine, so as to see how they relate with the Old Testament. First...

Old Testament Wisdom

...The most logical conflict resolution between Israel and Palestine is the creation of two countries for two peoples. Jewish and Palestinian separate states can satisfy the national goals of the both Jews and Palestinians. The one state for two peoples is not the way of conflict resolution, it can create the favorable conditions for further confrontation and struggle. Palestinians claim that they were the initial inhabitants of this land. They turn to the Old Testament where the word “Pelesheth” is mentioned (Crenshaw, 2010). The Jews in their turn turn to the New Testament, where we can find many proofs of their presence on the land: «But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say to you, Ye shall not have...

The Old Testament

...Applying the Old testament Law Today Hay’s Essay Hay’s Essay The Old Testament law is still applicable to Christians today. The bulk of Hay’s essay is limited to the understanding of the relationship between recorded scriptures in the new testaments books in relation to law keeping. He focuses mostly on Mathew, Romans, Colossians and Galatians to prove his point. He gives a detailed explanation of Colossians, which is clear to me. Here the scripture says” let no one judge the way they practice the law which is a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ” this is a clear revelation that the Old Testament laws are a shadow of the Law as Christ Jesus had stated. He said, He come not to abolish the laws but to fulfill it. Hay’s...

Old Testament Literary Analysis

...Old Testament Literary Analysis Samuel 17 Insights from the Literary Features used in this narrative 7unshakable faith in God managed to kill Goliath, the feared mighty Philistine champion. One of the main literary features used in this narrative is symbolism. Symbolism is actually the main literary feature used in this narrative. To begin with, Goliath is used in the narrative as a symbol of the enemies of God’s people. This fact is evidenced by the fact that in the whole narrative, the name Goliath is mentioned only twice. In all the other instances, Goliath is described simply as “the Philistine”, this was meant to show that in the narrative, Goliath is the representative of the Israelite’s nemesis. As the symbol of the Israelite’s...

New Labour In The United Kingdom

We can acknowledge the re-emergence of New Labour as a party of liberal policies, which is characterized as a belief in legal rights and duties towards a citizen, however, the party’s popularity has affected badly since 2001 for the criticism the new name with an unprecedented comment of ‘spin doctoring’ and ‘New Labour, New Danger’ has brought to it. (Wikipedia, Labour Party UK)
When we focus on the public sector response given to the New Labour’s political vision, it can be seen that New Labour’s public philosophy is a development of the socialist tradition in response to specific dilemmas conceived largely in terms associated with the New Right. This factor should also be considere...

Also, a sense of empathy seems to exist in the best organizations around the world since they think both from the organizational perspective as well as from the side of the employees who are going to give in their best and thus benefit the organization in the long run, not to forget do themselves a favor in terms of their future growth and exposure levels. However, all this is easier said than done since the problems do arise from time to time and it is significant that both the organization and the employee understand that they have to co-exist for the betterment of each other. No one of these two entities could exist in a vacuum and thus it is of paramount importance to understand the very same. The end results would be in terms...

The impact of Plant Disease on New Zealand

Transmission of PMTV occurs through inoculation of sap in 26 species belonging to Solanaceae or Chenopodiaceae and to Tetragonia expansa and also through grafting (A. Reavy., W. Kashiwazaki., & Barker,1995 ). In some cases, PMTV is known to be transmitted by mechanical inoculation also.

Since PMTV is vectored only through S.subterranea the infection of plants with PMTV depends on the life cycle of S.subterranea which takes about 10-14 days. The life cycle of S.subterranean takes place in 2 phases: Phase I) This is the primary stage of the life cycle initiated with the germination of resting spores known as sporangiosori or cystosori persisting in the soil as spore balls with thick cell walls into zoosporangia. The Launch of Kones New Product

Political: 90% of Kone’s sales come from international markets. This makes it very vulnerable to political stability in its global markets for example Italy is one of the markets of Kone and elevator regulations are governed in Italy by parliament. Thus, to bring MonoSpace i.e. an elevator without a machine room in compliance with standards, it would require an act by the parliament.
Economical: The performance of the elevator industry is directly proportional to the performance of the construction industry. The construction industry has a maximum potential in developing countries rather than in developed countries. The reason for this is that the developed countries have maximized their growth potential whereas the dev...

Comparing the Brave New World and Todays World

... A Brave New World 26 February Introduction Man has always wondered since time immemorial about his ultimate place in the big universe. He had attempted to find meaning in this scheme of things without much success. A key repeated theme is seeming failure to find that true meaning that will justify his existence. What usually happens is that the more Man goes deeper into the search for ultimate meaning, the more he finds nothing. This is confounding, to say the least, and goes to show how useless the search could be. Many people had been doing this search several times and came up with nothing. Out of this seeming hopelessness and uselessness came the philosophical idea of the absurd – that Mans search for individual meaning is bound...
