I see myself being my own boss in my business and only doing the delegation of work and working as per se as I will be more involved in community work with money not being that necessary but only to offer comfort. Much of my daytime will therefore be divided between community work and playing with my grandchildren as well as spending quality time with my partner enjoying each other’s company and that of our friends at times.

By this age, I wish to have cleared off all my debts including the mortgage and other loans and hence started to save for when I will not b energetic enough to work later on. I also hope to have elaborate medical insurance and a will prepared. At this age according to Maslow, I ought to have achieved and fulfilled the physiological needs by having a secure home, source of food for not only present but future as well among other basic needs. The issue of security should also be catered for and this includes having financially secure employment of being financially stable, having medical insurance to take care of the health problems that are bound to start cropping up with the age including diabetes, hypertension, kidney and liver problems and even cardiac problems as well instead of having to burden the family once these problems come.

Safety also in terms of the neighborhood and the environment one lives in. Social needs ought not to be an issue at this age as one is expected to have companionship from loved ones, romantic attachments and even steady friendships from social, religious or community groups for social support. What one should be doing is seeking esteem needs or self-actualizing by seeking self-worth and accomplishments or evaluating personal growth and trying to fulfill the potential of others having achieved yours and being self-aware as well.

The challenges at this age according to Berk, (2009) include risk of divorce or not having found secure and steady companion. Death may also have claimed one’s partner leaving a person in loneliness or loveless. Other may have concentrated too much on their career and hence have no family and it is too late to start one. For those with teenagers, there are problems of raising them, or even if they are grown, they may not have a purpose in life and hence creating family problems. These affect the rush to develop self-esteem, establish self-worth, secure your future and at the same time trying to have self-accomplishment.

Career-wise, an individual may not have attained what their goals and dreams sought leading to frustrations and especially when one compares with others. With stagnation having set in according to Erikson’s psychosocial theory, health problems are likely to occur more quickly such as depression, high blood pressure among other diseases leading to early death, being an invalid and hence burden to family as well as incurring a lot of expenses and saving on medical treatment.
