If money is used, then decide how much money is to be taken away at that time. This should be extremely reasonable, basing on the child’s hope for spending money. As the child is making progress towards the desired target behavior, the expectations can also be raised. This can be done by increasing the amount of dollars to be taken away because the child is now aware of the consequences of his undesired behavior. behavioral expectations 2. The parent will have to take away the money so that next time the child finds himself deviating; he will avoid it so as not to lose his money. 4. Its success is based on the fact that the child repeats the same procedures several times from the beginning to the end of his practice (Thorne, 1980). 3.
