The main objective of this paper is to provide a detailed explanation on how APA constructs and forms its code of ethics and what role does this code of ethics play to mitigate those contemporary issues. Discussion How the APA Constructed and Formed Their Code of Ethics Developing a code of ethics is considered to be one of the most challenging tasks of any association, as a considerable amount of studies in view of the ethics aspects of every individual associated with the organization need to be analyzed before finalizing any outcome.

In this regard, the association firstly considers ethical values from different people and analyzes them with their own ethical values. In the second stage, research is conducted to gain more information about the code of ethics that has been considered at the initial stage and a new code of ethics is formed considering the best aspects. It is worth mentioning that in this stage all the legal standards, policies and procedures associated with the different codes of ethics are collected. . A few of these include confidentiality and sexual issues amid others.

The sixth stage is consulting. In this phase, the code of ethics formed is consulted with different experts and colleagues in order to study all the problems and solutions that can arise on application of the code of ethics. In the last stage, the cost of application and the risk are measured. It is in this stage that the code of ethics is provided for use in the real-life scenario (Corey, Corey & Callanan, 2011; Pope, n.d.). Role of Code of Ethics to Address Contemporary Issues Implementing code of ethics to deal with any arising problem does not only save time and resources but also helps in finding solutions in a much easy way.

The adaption of APA code of ethics to deal with contemporary issues can be evidenced from the past. Various researches have been conducted to study how code of ethics is being utilized to deal with modern contemporary issues. It has been viewed that the code of ethics developed is being adapted by various psychologists to formulate a mutual interpersonal relation while providing therapeutic treatment to their patients. It is worth mentioning that APA code of ethics is mostly adapted while providing mental health services to patients.

Additionally, the code of ethics developed is embraced to deal with certain confronting ethical issues arising out of conflict in ethical values amid two individuals following different ethical values. It has also been viewed that APA code of ethics is adapted in academic centers while coaching, instructing supervision, and conducting investigations while concentrating on a defined subject matter.
