Positive psychology is used by practitioners to develop techniques that manage psychiatric pain and focus. Intervention created from positive psychology are developed to tackle and treat psychology based weaknesses and problems. For instance, Held (2004) points out that persons dealing with low self esteem and lack of confidence issues can only be treated through interventions generated from psychology interventions. Additionally, personal healing and realization is done through positive techniques interventions.

Robbins (2008) also argues that mental and psychiatric hospitals apply positive psychology interventions to help patients partially or fully recover from the psychological deficiencies. Generally, Pierce & Cheney (2004) argue that positive psychology interventions enhance personal healing and realization techniques.   Apart from well being based on personal healing, positive psychology intervention also comprises of help person enhance their abilities to have positive emotions, character traits and experiences.

Practitioners use positive psychology to develop tenets of humanistic psychology. For instance, Robbins (2008) highlights the Carl Rogers client based treatment. This particular intervention was a creation based on a theory that people could improve their lives by enhancing their inner unique selves. Positive psychology interventions focus mainly on personal strengths and positive emotions. These interventions are used as complementary to psychotherapy but not replace the treatment.  However, positive psychology interventions have small and short term continuity effects if not maintained at the most suitable level.

However, with enhancement of personal strength and realization of authentic traits the significance of these interventions is important in a person’s life.
