Having an acrophobia is not easy at all. It is very inconvenient because you cannot avoid heights. There are times that you will be left behind because of this extreme fear of heights. Some of my friends are into extreme sports and challenges. Because of this phobia, I am always looking for excuses not to go with them. They always ask me to try to overcome this fear, and I am really trying to. I feel very envious of them being so comfortable dining at hotels and high buildings. I can be comfortable and I always try to be.

Sometimes I just can’t help but be jealous that they can take pictures with the view and I cannot. I always remain in my seat and wait for them to finish. I feel that this type of disorder is not dangerous but it is very inconvenient not only on my part but to the people I am with. My family and friends are sometimes restricted to go to places that will make me comfortable. They will always try to avoid those places that will make me sweat, uncomfortable and sometimes palpitate.I always think and wish that I can overcome this the soonest possible time.

I have been really trying to overcome this fear thinking I could join my friends someday when they want to try extreme sports or challenges such as bungee jumping. It is very annoying on my part whenever I think that others can do it and I can’t. But I am very positive that someday, I can get over this acrophobia and enjoy heights.According to Fritscher, there are lot symptoms of acrophobia such as emotional and physical symptoms.. I can be comfortable and I always try to be. Sometimes I just can’t help but be jealous that they can take pictures with the view and I cannot.

According to Fritscher (2011), there are lot symptoms of acrophobia such as emotional and physical symptoms. Some of the stated symptoms are shaking, sweating, experiencing heart palpitations and even crying (Fritscher, 2011). You might also experience feeling terrified and paralyzed (Fritscher, 2011). On my part, I experience getting faster heart beat whenever I go to high places such as hotels.

I also experienced sweating, shaking and being terrified whenever I come to balcony of a very high building. I feel like I will fall down. I cannot remember when I developed this disorder. But when I was still young, I just noticed that I am really uncomfortable whenever we go to high places. And I am not fond of climbing to trees or playgrounds like other children.
