Section A: General Standard # 5 This standard describes some considerations while establishing fees for professional counseling services. NCDA members must consider the financial position of clients and their locality. If the suggested fees are inappropriate, the standard emphasizes that additional support must be provided by helping the client to find comparable services at acceptable cost. Reason This standard has increased my awareness relating to ethics and ethical responsibility. Career counselors must take into account client’s background (Andersen, Vandehey 2011, pp.132) Previously, my information and understanding was limited to the extent that as a career counselor I had to ensure that the clients must be taken care of in terms of psychological support, in which they may have face problems while choosing an appropriate career choice.

However, after reading this standard, which talks about taking into account the financial condition of the client, I feel that ethical responsibilities go beyond its traditional concept of supporting someone psychologically. Additionally, this standard goes one step ahead by suggesting that if the client is financially insufficient, as a career counselor, it is and it will be by my responsibility to help the client out by recommending him someone whose fees are affordable to the client. Section B: Counseling Relationship Standard #5 Records of counseling relationship should not be considered a part of an agency or institution records.

The examples are interview notes, test data, visual or audio tapes recordings, correspondence, electronic data storage and other documents which are considered to be professional information for use in counseling. Such profession information must not be considered a part of the institution in which NCDA member is employed unless stipulated by state regulation or statue. Additionally, this standard requires career counselors providing information to public or, peers, supervisors, or to subordinates have a responsibility ensuring that the content must be general, and it should consist of factual data and must be objective.

Reason This standard could be more challenging to follow. Any records of counseling relationship are considered professional information usable for counseling (Manthei, 1997, pp.208).This standard talk about privacy and integrity of the data obtained during conducting interviews or other forms of the records of counseling relationship. According to this standard, the gathered information must be not permeated or told to everyone, there are some pieces of information that can be sensitive and may occur in the personal domain.

Additionally, this standard requires that the career counselors must not tamper with the gathered information; and the integrity of that information must be ensured at all costs. At the same time, the career counselors are suggested that their personal opinions and ideas must not be allowed to subvert the results of the gathered information. These are fundamental rather critical areas that are more challenging where the counselors have to ensure the attainment of research objectives while at the same time they have to be vigilant from their personal opinions impacting over the results of the gathered information.

Section D: Research and Publication Standard # 07 This standard puts light over the
