Politics and Section # of Political and economical stagnation is when the process of economicaldevelopment stops and also the political scenario is also not developing at the required pace. Mostly third world countries are facing these problems, because they have not got chance to let the democracy win in their countries and also the economic development is correlated to the political development. Politics and Economics Politics is defined as a process, which allows people to make their own decisions and decisions are made according to the majority’s choice. It is usually referred in the political scenario within the governments on national or the international level but it is practiced in different human groups, for example, corporate sector, government organizations, educational institutes and religious sector as well. Politics is usually thought to be parallel with authority or power. The Chinese Confucius (551-471 BCE) was one of the first thinkers to adopt a distinct approach to political philosophy. His philosophy was "rooted in his belief that a ruler should learn self-discipline, should govern his subjects by his own example, and should treat them with love and concern." (Confucius on Politics at the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy). The Russian Italian political theorist Machiavelli "for Machiavelli, there is no moral basis on which to judge the difference between legitimate and illegitimate uses of power." (Machiavellis The Prince at the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy). A politically stable country implies that an economically stable nation. Politics and economics are correlated with each other. If the political scenario of a country is going down, it means that the country will face economical crisis as well. So in order to make a boom in economy, the politics should be stabilized and the government and the political scenario should be predictable, then only the country can be politically and economically stabilize. Political and economical stagnation should always be avoided because it pushes the country years back. A developed and politically stable country like United States developed a system of government in a way that would guarantee that no individual or personal component could dominate the system ever. This saves the country from so many problems, these problems usually occurs when an individual tries to strengthen his powers and tries to push the democracy at a side this is a main reason for political instability of the country, which leads to the political and economical stagnation. In United States, a strict and great system of check and balance was implemented and the authorities make sure that every thing in the system is transparent and this transparency is the key to a good democratic system. A country like Nepal, it is very hard to have a politically stable country. Though there is democracy in the country but still it is not at that level where it should be. The king is likely to implement a tightly centralized autocracy system but people want to have a democratic system. The most powerful entity in the country is the army and king is enjoying full support of army. This is the cause of the disappointment among the members of the civil society, including the political parties and political organizations there activities are suspended and their moral is down. With the support of army, king is enjoying his power and is in no mood to give people their basic right that is democracy, which means power to choose the people of their own choice and to suspend them if they don’t like their performance. When the political situation of the country is like this, one can simply think about the economic condition of the nation. The economy index is going down and economic growth is almost at its worse. The condition of the country is going down and down and this results in the failed development plans. The impression among people regarding this is that people of the country have lost their interest in their country’s situation, as there is no chance of the change of the government in a country. As the country was never stable politically, people of Nepal are facing a lot of trouble to differentiate between numbers of Nepali politicians. In a regular democratic system, people know that who is good at government and who is bad, who is good in foreign policies and who is not, but in a country which never tasted the fruit of democracy, its hard for people to justify all the politicians only on the base of their words and promises, because all politicians tells them the same stories. The other thing is that people blame politicians as well, along with the king, because they never took the democracy serious. In past, whenever they got a chance to plant the seed of democracy, they always intended to do something for themselves, never got serious to do anything for their country. The political and democratic activities have always been a showcase and the politicians themselves never took them serious. So it is clear that good old game of making the public fool is going on in the country, but now is the time when they are getting the awareness to change the system. The political parties of Nepal are fighting for their own benefits and power, they are not fighting a war for the people of Nepal and don’t care about the real democracy. They want themselves to be at the high position and want to enjoy the power but are not willing to do anything serious for the people’s right and their supremacy. Democracy is actually the supremacy of people in the country and they are the ones who should get benefits from democracy because they let these politicians into power, but in the country, the nation’s interest in not first priority of politicians. So political parties are usually been criticized to be a part of failing the democratic system and they are actually playing in the hands of king and other non-democratic forces that don’t want democracy to prevail in the country. A country cannot move towards a democratic culture unless and until they have strong politicians who are ready to sacrifice for their country and cause. Their country should be the only thing in their mind and they should sacrifice anything for their cause. Their cause is none other than democracy and they should be determined enough to win their cause and to force the non-democratic parties out of the system. So the competent and efficient politicians are needed for this purpose. If the politicians are really serious in bringing democracy in their country, then all the political parties should remove and forget their differences of ideologies and should let go the strengths and weaknesses of other political parties, so that they all can start their journey towards democracy. And this demands their commitment to the cause and also their determination, so these politicians should make democracy and national interest their only agenda. These political parties should rely less on the king and the parties, which are been supported by the king, so that the actual democracy could be won, and not the fake democracy. In western countries, the famous phrase is, “The deeper the darkness, the nearer the dawn,” so people of Nepal should not loose hope and should continue their struggle to democracy because this is their only way to a developed country. Some political parties in the country are not willing to involve the United Nations intervention in the issues of their country. But the main thing is that they should make their own nation strong enough who can fight its own problems. The country needs to have a start at its political level, and it will take time to become a politically stable country and when it will become the one, they will be able to solve their own problems and would not need anyone to solve their problems. The politicians, army and the king should work together for the interest of their own nation and should embrace and adapt a new culture of acceptance, tolerance and reciprocal respect which should enable them to see each other as political opponents and should end the enmity among them. It is the only way which can end up this political stagnation and they need to remove this in order to make Nepal progressive and forwards state. As we know that political stagnation is rigorous than the economic stagnation, because it pushed back the countries to a level which is not only dangerous to the people of the country but also for the world. The same goes for the southern Sudan, as the country is going through worse conditions nowadays and it is said about the country “the reign of corruption and political stagnation”. As on the political front, the SPLM is failing to focus on main issues which are likely to be used in the implementation of the CPA, now the situation of the country is not so good either. The killing and murdering of people of the other ethnic groups is the cause of unrest. It is not only blocking the way of political development and economical strength but also the conflicts are now the cause of fear for all the people in the country. The political stagnation is growing day by day, and this is turning into a big trouble.
