State Sovereignty Arguably, sovereignty of states differs significantly. However, all states consider fighting for anything that ensures their survival and peace regardless of its consequences. Just like analysts, I support the fact that, ‘some states are more sovereign than others’. In terms of sovereignty, states will be yelling in the near future unless someone does something to deter political wrangles involving nuclear proliferation and armament (Wilkins & Stark, 2010:38). This is because; some nations are claiming that nuclear proliferation does not pose any threat to peace and tranquility of our planet and its species. Some states such as the United States of America are more sovereign that others. According to Borensztein (2004:17), the U.S. has been in the forefront in declaring the significance of arsenal nuclear accumulation. The publicizing of nuclear proliferation by corporate media that is revolving around Iraq and the half of North Korea is a concern to the U.S. According to the U.S officials, this move by such countries that seem suspicious calls international intersection. Therefore, since the U.S is more sovereign than Korea, it deployed about thirty seven thousand troops and stationed them in Korea. In addition, it deployed a massive number of military forces all over Iraq. When the U.S government orders other countries to cease nuclear proliferation, those countries must lower down their defenses and disarm with immediate effect. However, Iraq did not respond to this call by the U.S forcing the U.S to attack the country. After the war kicked off, Iraq could abide with the United Nations Security Council Resolutions and call off the war, but insisted on keeping its nukes despite the understanding that only the U.S portrays its nuclear as a necessity to its national security. The legitimate purpose of establishing United Nations was to ensure peaceful negotiations between quarrelling nations and come to a mutual understanding without necessarily resulting to war. However, the case of USA and Iraq was different since Iraq did not want to resolute to the UN council. It considered the application of ‘Atoms for Peace’ program factoring itself out as sovereign with a sovereignty guaranteed in the UN Charter that declares that a sovereign nation has a right to defend itself in case of an external attack. The application of power to control and curb possible risks by the United States depicts its sovereignty (Wilkins & Stark, 2010:41). Therefore, following this example, it is true to say that some nations are more sovereign compared to others. Some states are more sovereign than others are because politicians and globalists strive to acquire power by use of substantial resolutions. Chances of a nuclear free planet were promising after Japan surrendered its nuclear unconditionally. Additionally, it would have been easy to attain disarmament worldwide if only United States abandoned its nuclear. However, following withdrawal of USSR from Azerbaijan within 24 hours that left Azerbaijan divided up to date due to nuclear proliferation; USA continued assembling nuclear under the watch of ‘The National Security State’. It continued to practice armament procedures until attaining the most complicated weaponries war materials that makes the country remain a super power and sovereign over all the countries present in this planet (Frey, 2006:152). Korea is a sovereign country. Recently, it signed a landmark order with the United Arab Emirates for a power plant for manufacturing nuclear under the charge of a Korean consortium (Lee, 2006:149). Korea has a massive technological knowledge for nuclear processes and it plans to improve them in the future. This is causing United States sleepless nights since Korea is resolving to assert on processing fuel rods for its nuclear fusion despite restriction by the bilateral agreement between the two countries (Perkovich, 2002:421). Nevertheless, since America is more sovereign than Korea, it is imposing more restrictions on Korean activities of enriching uranium and manufacturing of nuclear fuel. In this scenario, limitations imposed to Korea by United States flatten or rather dissolves Korean ability to extract minerals vital for manufacture of nuclear and nuclear proliferation. Political scientists analyzed this situation and revealed that America is using its sovereignty to deter Korea from recycling nuclear waste. Some states are more sovereign than others are since some states in the US conform to some rules and regulations regarding decisions made external entities (Shanks, 2001:237). For instance, the International Criminal Court in The Hague attempted to issue an execution stay for a Paraguayan citizen convicted of murder in the state of Virginia. The astonishing part surrounding this scenario is that the State Department was ready to second and approve the order even if the state of Virginia did not wish to comply. The perspective drawn out of this commotion revealed that the State Department is more sovereign compared to the State of Virginia. Furthermore, when a United Nations state or tribunal organization tried to indict the former president of The United States of America, George W. Bush of war crimes against humanity in Iraq, the State Department brushed the claims off their shoulders and subsequently ignored the UN sponsored tribunal (Shaw, 2005:69). Surprisingly, some states are more sovereign compared to others due to the fact that, some states defy laws set upon by federal government. In the United States of America, same-sex marriage is illegal (Borensztein, 2004:17). However, due to superiority and sovereignty of some states, same-sex marriage commenced attempts in 1996 after codifying the federal recognition of state laws defying licensing such marriages. In 2004, Massachusetts exercised its sovereignty when it granted same-sex marriage certificates to several couples within its boundaries. Some months later, other states followed the example set by Massachusetts and commenced issuing marriage certificates to same-sex couples. These states include Iowa, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and others. These state’s sovereignty surpassed the state’s federal law when they began issuing marriage licenses to such illegal unions as regarded by the law of United States (Perkovich, 2002:425). Economic wise, some states’ economies are more sovereign compared to others if the methods used in collecting the data are accurate. Currently, media around the globe portrays China’s economy as the biggest. Nonetheless, this belief is absurd given the Gross Domestic Product of Peoples Republic of China is utterly lower compared to that of the US. In 2009, United States’ GDP was close to $ 15 trillion while that of PRC clocked at $ 5 trillion mark. This gap was huge given that China produces the cheapest goods worldwide (Borensztein, 2004:11). This ensures China a wide and broad market for its commodities. Additionally, America continues to carry the sovereignty flag over China in terms of unemployment grid. China having the largest population worldwide, it deems agreeable to contemplate that it has a huge number of unemployed Chinese citizens able and willing to work. Analysts consider some states as sovereign compared to others due to things like standards of living between the subjects. In this category, analysts put into considerations factors like internet, quality of health as well as status of education. Comparing the US and China, USA is more sovereign than China in terms of internet system since USA has the biggest and consequently strongest internet host industry on the planet. This keeps the US far much ahead of all other states in the world since the host industry located in the US soil serves the rest of the world (Lee, 2006:154). In China, people use the old version of internet hence slow despite China's largest population with huge need for internet services. This reveals that, the two countries have potential, but due to a number of factors that set out the difference, one state must emerge more sovereign compared to the other. The huge difference depicted by these two states in terms of internet services, is a clear sign of matters relating to technological advancements. In addition, in matters concerning health, health specialists note that, American citizens enjoy the best health facilities as well improved social amenities equipped with top of class equipments compared to China. It is also relative that, USA has the cheapest medical services than China (Shanks, 2001:238). Some other states such as the United Kingdom and Japan also have qualities considerable in terms of sovereignty when comparing between these states. For instance, the level of infrastructure is high in the UK compared to that of Japan despite the fact that the two are sovereign. UK citizens enjoy the most developed means of transport that include electric trains, double-deckers, as well as engine gas-propelled motor vehicles. They also live in the most expensive mansions built with the current technology not to mention their state of roads, electric rail lines built in both over and under ground as well as rationalized and revolutionized social grounds like football pitches and modernized social landmarks. The ability of UK to develop this far is contrary, even though not with a huge margin, to Japan since the latter has all these infrastructural developments, but cannot conform to those of the UK. This line marks the level of sovereignty between the two states crowning the United Kingdom more sovereign than Japan (Perkovich, 2002:426). The economy of the Peoples Republic of China is accelerating at a vast pace keeping the country in speed of gaining sovereignty over other nations like the United Kingdom. In this concept, I chose peoples’ choice of shopping online shopping since these two countries have diverse cultures and infrastructural regimes. In UK, people consider shopping online with regard to the amount of purchase they intend to purchase due to incentives offered when purchasing online. In China, most people who do purchase online have the availability of internet services at their disposal. However, the sovereignty of UK over China depicts in areas concerning comparison of infrastructural development in both countries. UK is more sovereign compared to People’s Republic China because of the total population of China (Walker, 2010:452). Therefore, China requires services that are more substantial in order to-adequately meet the gap of income per capita between its classes of citizens. On the hand, UK’s measures of controlling the rate of birth worked as a tool towards realizing improved and developed level of infrastructure as well as increasing level of income per capita among its citizens. In conclusion, as an absolute power that a country has over itself and the citizens, sovereignty remains an important aspect to a nation state’s government. Despite the fact that sovereignty changes from one state to another with some states being more sovereign, lack of sovereignty means that liberties and rights of citizens are not completely protected. It is due to this difference that international issues like global trade, technological advancement, and international taxation vary from state to state. In addition, although sovereignty is different in different states, every state endeavors to attain sovereignty. This ensures that the country holds power and strength hence protection of the nation is guaranteed. Further still, this paper proves that the shocks of new political emergence are absorbed differently due to difference in sovereignty. Previously stated, sovereignty is the supreme and absolute power to govern. Sovereignty might never be the same in all states. Assertively therefore, countries perceived more sovereigns should protect themselves and their citizens from any unexpected attack or intimidation through their absolute power (Walker, 2010:448).
