Inconsistencies are witnessed when the above equation is applied to calculate the amount of material of the surface lost in the process of contact between two bodies lying on each other and in relative motion. For this reason, it gives an unreliable result because according to conclusions made using the equation, many factors that affect wearing are not put into consideration. Laws stating that:
1. Volume worn out varies proportionally with the distance covered by the two bodies in relative motion and lying on each other; the law is not all inclusive of factors for wearing. It is true but only holds in selected circumstances. This is because the material of the bodies will determine how much wearing will take place. When a very heavy body is placed on a softer body, wearing is possible even without a movement. As the two bodies wear each other, they have a possibility of causing smooth services which are not as destructive as would be in the initial motion. This will means that constants that are not supposed to change the equation, change.
2. Wear volume varies directly according to the total load exerted at the surface of contact by the two bodies, this law is applicable for lighter loads, it does not hold for very heavy loads for they cause massive destruction to each other when they are in contact and moving in a relative direction. Eminent damage is experienced on the soft body. This is especially if a body made of the softer material is lighter than the other body made of harder substance and both are in contact. In this case, the damage is not realized on one body but total destruction is witnessed on the second body. A case like this, with un-matched loads differences between the two bodies in contact, is known as critical loads. In a case like this, the pressure exerted can be denoted by the formula ~ H/3 indicating that other factors like texture plays a part in wearing. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Eastern and Western Wear

...Eastern and Western Wear: There are innumerable differences between Eastern and Western wear for girls. Although both types of outfits look extremely elegant and charming when worn according to the occasion, yet Eastern outfits are more girlish and reflect the femininity more profoundly than the Western outfits do. This paper discusses some of the points of comparison between the Western and Eastern outfits for women. Eastern outfits for girls conventionally come as kameez shalwar and dupatta or saree. These are the two basic types of Eastern outfits for girls. On the contrary, Western outfits for girls mainly comprise pant with shirt and skirt with blowse. These are the two basic types of Western...

She desperately wants to see her brother because they have not met for the past ten years, and the ship is her only way. When Barton, the ship pilot realizes the girl is onboard ensures she gets a severe punishment for trespassing into private property (Godwin10). Similarly, in The Cold Equations, things sold both expensive and cheap. They include clothes, shoes and other human worn stuffs. This is the reason Barton realizes Marilyn does not come from a rich background for she is not wearing vegan gypsy instead...

Culture Wear

...Culture Wear Culture is a set of values, beliefs and ideas that a person identifies with. Sometimes, this culture gets its guidelines by the help ofthe religion that is prevalent in the society. Therefore, both these things should not be mixed. The culture of a South Asian woman would be to wear 'shalwar kameez' that covers their bodies sufficiently according to the codes prescribed by Islam. The religious boundaries that she has to fulfill are the covering of her essential parts of the body with anything, be it a jeans and a t-shirt or 'hijab'. This kind of wear should not be mixed with culture. Therefore, for an individual to assimilate into a new culture, they will have to probably...

Structural equation modeling

...Structural equation modeling Structural equation modeling (SEM) holds its essential focus on the examination of a set of regression equations concurrently and is thus an expansion of general linear model since As compared to multiple regression, the SEM holds an advantage of higher flexibility in area of assumptions. This benefit of SEM is seen particularly in the light of multicollinearity. Another important advantage of SEM involves the exploitation of confirmatory factor analysis. This advantage results in reduction in the measurement error by making use of multiple indicators per latent variable. In addition, the SEM holds the capability to test models with multiple dependent...

Which equation is correct following two possible equations for thermal decomposition of Copper (II) carbonate: Two Possible Thermal Decomposition Equations for CuCO3 Equation 1: 2CuCO3---->Cu2O(s) + 2CO2(g) + 1/2O2(g) Equation 2: CuCO3(s) ---->CuO(s) + CO2(g) It is to be determined as which of the two equations is the correct equation. Looking at the right side of equation, we find the clue for designing an experiment to determine the correct equation of the thermal decomposition. There are two clues – 1. Mass of the black residue and 2. Volume of the gas liberated. If one starts the thermal decomposition experiment with two...

Fluid Mechanics - Bernoullis Equation

...Laboratory Report: Fluid Mechanics—Bernoulli’s Equation Using the conservation laws of streamline motion of fluid, we investigate the behavior of the fluid motion along a converging-diverging tube of known cross-sectional area, at different flow rates. The energy lost as a result of viscous resistance of the fluid the motion when the flow rate increases, may also be measured as Head Lost. Introduction When an incompressible fluid starts moving along streamlines, two basic laws get satisfied. One can use these two laws to check the behaviour of the dynamics of the fluid. Moreover, both these laws pertain to certain conservation of fluid properties— (1) Continuity Equation: from the consideration of...

Thus, photography is mostly the representation of the current culture prevailing in the human society either in the form of religious practices, traditions and customs or the clothing and fashion among many other things. This becomes evident from the Vla Crucis photograph, which demonstrates the dress code for nuns in the procession, bearing the Holy Cross, representing a current tradition among the Christians in the Italian society. Similarly photo # 3 in my photography project shows a lady clad in a traditional sari and wearing ornaments in the Hindu culture and she reflects the most natural...
