The dark matter can either be made of non-baryonic matter or baryonic matter. To hold the universe elements together, the dark matter has to consist of about 80% of the matter (Bahcall et al. 2004).
One interest thing about the dark matter is that the scientists cannot see it. Then how do they know it exists in the first place? Scientists have learned to calculate the mass any huge object’s in the space through the study of their movement. In the 1950s when some scientists were examining spiral galaxies, they expected to witness the materials at the center to be moving fast as compared to those on the outside (Spooner and Kudryavtsev 2001). Against their expectations, the scientists discovered that the stars that were in the same position were traveling at a similar velocity. The results indicated that the galaxies are made of a lot of mass that cannot be seen. The elliptical galaxies studies further indicated that visible objects had more mass.
Albert Einstein proved that huge objects in the space bend light and distorted it, making them be used as lenses. Through the study of light distortion in the universe, the scientists have been able to create dark matter maps in the universe (Bertine 2010).
The gravitational mass can be derived from the observation of movement of the gas clouds and the stars motion is the disk as the spiral galaxy (for example the Milky way) in the disk as they circle the center (Rubin 1997). The galaxy rotation curve reveals how the speed of the stars around the center as the gap from the center increases. The majority of the spiral galaxies are known to reveal flat rotational curves out in the longest distance they can be traced, even after they disappear into the distance. It is, therefore, reasonable to ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

...ramifications. To conclude, it will be shown that Chekhov had a double role himself. He wrote about the ludicrousy of the upper classes in Tsarist Russian while establishing his own genre of short story writing. In 19th century Russia, Chekhov wrote about Russian society without ever talking about societal issues. It has never been part of Russian culture to complain about the trials and tribulations of society or the government. To judge the Tsar would have meant imprisonment. Folk literature, fairy tales, allegorical tale became part of the culture out of necessity. The need to express dissatisfaction cannot be suppressed. Historically this trend has gone through to the 21rst century. The Industrial Revolution was late...

...all her man picked her from a very poor estate and state yet raised her to the higher level of life. bound by a mere ring. The irony in Browning's poem is portrayed in the actions of the lover, who strangles the lady using her own hair strings in the name of showing love to her. As a reader, I expect him to display his love to her in another special manner other than strangling her and claiming that she hasn't felt any pain. The authors of the two poems have also employed the use of poetic diction. This is the choice of words by the author to bring out the mood, tone, styles and even the attitude in the poem. The choice of words can greatly determine the message and purpose a poem has for the reader. Like in...

... How violence unraveled the qualities of the characters in the works of Dante and Homer Introduction In literature, the faith of the middle ages found full expression in Dante Alighieri’s Divina Comedia, which is the odyssey of a soul through hell and purgatory, to celestial paradise where he joins the beatific company of God, the saints and the beloved, the incomparable Beatrice. A great merit of the work is its gallery of diverse characters suffering the punishments corresponding to their sins in the nine circles of the internal abyss. It is a journey from the lowest depths to the heights of heavenly glory. In the Aristotelian definition of tragedy, the protagonist or the tragic hero is a member of royalty, or occupies a noble...

...The Influence of the Inca Empire on Modern Peru The Inca Empire grew between 1200 CE till 1535 CE and included twelve million people from Ecuador to northern Chile. Despite the enormity of this empire, it was able to be conquered by a relatively minuscule amount of Spanish soldiers. The Spanish colonized, assimilated, and converted the Incas to Christianity until there was very little left of their civilization. They were, however, impressed by the enormity of the empire that they had been able to construct: “Everywhere they traveled, the invaders saw the imperial imprint, whether it was in Cuzco’s grand architecture, the roads that traversed forty thousand kilometers of rugged terrain, thousands of provincial installations... ...felt no pain…) It appears that she didn’t even put up a fight. Why did she not cry out or fight or struggle? Is this some indication that she would rather die rather than be without the man of her dreams? The Duke in “Duchess” also speaks of the woman’s throat (the “faint half-flush that dies along her throat.”), but in a different manner; as if he would have liked to choke her himself, but he doesn’t. He has someone else kill her instead. Her wandering eye doesn’t count him above anyone else that she passes in life, so for this he finds her worthy of death. That the “gift” of his very important highly-esteemed 900-years old name in line 33 should be enough for her; but she did not esteem her husband, in his need to be...

Perhaps God loves those children most, who are destined to undergo intense suffering right from the start of their life. Jane’s journey of life was difficult. She struggled from childhood to discover her real God, to find the equitable balance between moral duty and secular pleasures, between obligations to her spirit and to maintain the bodily requirements. Her life was a great combination of trials, tribulations on the one side and duty and beauty on the other side. Her mind always remained at cross over the issues to be done and not to be done. ...

... of the of the Concerned 2 May 2009 A Woman’s Last Word ‘A Woman’s Last Word’ written by Robert Browning is a special love lyric that is defined by an exuding sense of irony and pathos. In fact it is a cross-gendered monologue that deals with the issue of role playing in the intimate human relationships. The relationship defined in the poem is very conventional in its perspective, yet it offers a unique insight into the seemingly conventional and regular. The poem starts with an argument between the two lovers and the speaker is trying to bring it to an end. The very title of the poem suggests an approach towards a possible interpretation of a discernable dramatic situation. Though on the surface, the poem seems to suggest... of the of...
