Part The film under review is “brother’s keeper." The film is about ethics in the society. It is all about William Wardwho was found killed in his bed in new York in a shack on a dairy farm where they lived with his brother Roscoe and Lyman. The death was initially thought to have come from a natural cause since the victim was always sick with several ailments. However, the autopsy was carried out which suggested they have been another external force involved in the process (Weiss, Jeffrey, and Craig Weiss 1998).

When his brother was interrogated by police, he confessed to having smothered his brother while he was asleep. It was mercy killing that the three brothers had agreed upon. Until then the three semi-literate brothers who were referred to as the ward boys were thought to be harmless. The three brothers did have many friend because of the lifestyle they were leading; they had unkempt hair and long beards and were very unhygienic (Weiss, Jeffrey, and Craig Weiss 1998). When Delbert was arrested, neighbors, Madison County people and his cousins and even those who did not know him personally rose up to his defense.

They managed to raise the $10,000 required to bail him out of jail with the few hours they realized he was arrested. They believed that the Delbert they knew was not capable of that and they he had no idea what he was signing when he confessed (Weiss, Jeffrey, and Craig Weiss 1998). The film is not only about the arrest of Delbert`s arrest, the long time spent in trials and the trial itself but also about the community and the family that found identity defending him. The movie was directed by Bruce Sinofsky and Joe Berlinger (Weiss, Jeffrey, and Craig Weiss 1998).

Part two From what we can see it is very unethical for one kill anyone for any reason other than self-defense or other reasons that are lawful. However, we find that even when the suspect confesses of his crime, people still think that he is not capable of committing such a crime. They even rise together to defend him. For the brothers, they found it merciful to have one of the brother’s dead to relieve him of his ailment and other pain. It is very acceptable to show mercy to those in need.

However, it is good to be very watchful so as not to go beyond what is morally accepted (Weiss, Jeffrey, and Craig Weiss 1998) . However, now that the community can come together to aid one of their own, it is a very positive thing, and other community should do the same if one of them is somewhere very sensitive. The unity of a community shows strength and love (Weiss, Jeffrey, and Craig Weiss 1998). Part three The film shows the difference between two groups of people; the one group is made up of people from the larger city while the other group is made up of people from rural areas.

We find that the movie reveals two contradicting views about the Ward brothers. Some hold that the brothers are simple country folk and, on the other hand, the press have stereotypes for the two brothers as people who are not educated. The film has managed in a very successful way displayed how unity can help bring down a monstrous problem despite the level of literacy (Weiss, Jeffrey, and Craig Weiss 1998) .
