You fear and feel about the economic issues and your ability to raise more than two children. You said that a report states that in the country today, the total amount needed by a middle class family to raise a child until the age of 17 amounts to approximately two hundred thirty-five thousand US dollars which sadly would still inevitably increase in the future. This means that we are going to spend up to $470,000 on our two children until they are 17 years old, and another $235,000 if we have another child. This is why you firmly believe that the two beautiful children we have now are enough, economically (Pearson par.21).
Another point that you have raised is your concern for your ability to raise more than two children. Raising a child is not an easy task. You said that while it comes naturally to a parent, parenting still demands time, attention and energy and it is a very complicated task. Developing their character in order for them to be good children as top priority, you need to plan good parenting methods which include devoting your time to each of them, making sure they are included and considered in your social life, setting a good example of being a good person, making sure that ideas and information that they have access to are good, since these will also influence them as they grow. You will also have to help them be good students by constantly guiding them and helping them in their studies.
Another concern that you have said is about your experience when you were growing up. Being the youngest of a brood of six, you said that you did not feel your parents’ love and attention fully because there are six of you that they have to take care of. The fights you had with your siblings in order to get your parents’ attention are not what you had in mind for our children as they grow up.
After some thinking, and considering your views on having a third child, I must admit that I found them reasonable.
