I was informed that you learned about the abortion procedure that the undersigned has done on your minor child.  Being a parent myself, I understand your concern about not being informed about your child’s decision prior to the operation.

I had to perform the abortion as soon as possible because of the healthy treats that your daughter will be facing if I did not do it immediately.  Furthermore, after doing several medical tests, I found out that the fetus suffered severe defects which left me with no other option except abortion (Guldi, 2008).  Another thing, I am bound by my oath of a doctor-patient confidentiality agreement; thus, I did not inform you of the procedure.

 Given the above justifications, I hope that I have clarified the issues surrounding my performance of an abortion operation on your child.  Please be assured that I did what I perceived as the best alternative for your child during that time.  I assumed the role of both doctor and parent at the time of the consultation and operation of your daughter.  I would have done otherwise if I knew that there were better options.
