Full The Red Violin The Red Violin is the story about an object which is of the of the movie made through the inspiration and passion of a violin-maker purposefully for his unborn child. The violin outlived its maker and intended owner and has survived for more than a century, which was then auctioned in the modern time, wherein the story begins. Through the people who have had a part of the violin, they all had stories to tell which completed the story until its last holder, which have been generally been tragic.
The movie is exceptionally good, covering the world over as the violin traveled through its owners, however it has been a tragedy that such a beautiful piece of art has brought so much pain in many people. The involvement of many cultures and use of many languages could be said to be the strengths for the movie because it stirs up interest in audiences around the globe. I could say that the movie has been ingeniously produced to the full satisfaction of every movie. What could have been the drawback for the movie are some shots which took so much of the time like the many changing faces in the monastery who played the violin when the very message that was portrayed there was the length of time it stayed with the monks.
The character I most identify with is the violin maker as he was a perfectionist, demanding the best that he wants and working hard on things rather than easily giving up. In addition, he is passionate with his works, giving his best even his heart and soul to create the master piece he desires to have for his unborn child. Also, he is a determined man, knowing what he wants in life for his wife and unborn son. He is extraordinarily zealous for his loved ones, and definitely a true lover to his wife which is most admirable to me.
The full story is used most probably by the director to convey his message that from generation to generation, the passions of men do not change, but that they desire to have the best in life like love, fame and glory as expressed by the expectant father, the violin-maker. This is shown in the similar wants of the people who have been involved with the violin like Mr. Poussin who tutored the gifted child Kaspar Weiss dreaming them to be famous as they team up as masters of the art. The movie brings out truths about the needs and roles of people around the world throughout generations as it portrays how they react to their circumstances, touching the lives not only of the poor but also of the rich.
The violin has been in the hands of the poor orphans and also the aristocrat, Pope. The roles of the poor for the rich or in contrast to them have been shown in the movie like the young Weiss who was accepted by his tutor because of his remarkable talent. I am giving the movie two thumbs up because of its artistic presentation with the music and costume which made the story so alive. There has not been a dull moment watching the film rather has made me sit with anticipation of the next event as the story unfolded.
The order of the story also has been interesting with the flashbacks from the auction scene to the history of the violin, putting the viewers on the edge of their sits and desiring to have all the details of the story all at once. The movie is a genius’ work.
