Peter Frampton Comes Alive! A lot of rock music albums have been produced and sold in the US and other markets, and some of them have been very successful due to the quality of work in them. One of such albums is Peter Frampton Comes Alive! produced by Peter Frampton, an English rock musician. The double action album was released on 6th January 1976 and is still one of the best selling albums in the US. The album gained popularity immediately after its release and by the week ending 10th April, 1976, it was the leading on the Billboard 200.

The album retained its position as the top spot for 10 weeks. Peter Frampton Comes Alive! was recorded in summer and fall, 1975. The album was produced from live concerts primarily recorded at Long Island Arena and California in New York and Winterland in San Francisco. The original album was produced from four different shows. The album was recorded well using a mixture of stadium rock and blues rock style of the 70s. As earlier noted, the main rock artist for this album was Peter Frampton. On stage, his roles were singing and playing guitar.

Other people involved during the production of this album include Bob Mayo, Fender Rhodes, Stanley Sheldon as instrumentalists, John Siomos as a drummist and Hammond Organ as a singer. Prior to the release of this great album, Frampton had produced four solo albums, all of which recorded low public reception hence they had little success. The first among these was the Wind of Change, released in 1971. This was followed by Frampton’s Camel in 1973, Somethin’s Happening in 1974 and Frampton in 1975 (Bruce 1).

Peter Frampton Comes Alive! sold 8 million copies the first year and after some persuasion, Frampton released ‘I’m In You’ just immediately and this managed to sell over 3 million copies. The next one was Premonition released in 1986. The order of songs in the album is one that allows for an easy and sequential listening. This was achieved by pressing the album in automatic sequence, side one and four being on record and sides two and three on the other. One feature that makes this album sell well is its remarkable level of variety and a playing level that is consistently skillful throughout the album.

The album is full of classics. It begins with tracks that set the mood, followed by amazing acoustic playing then powerful rock songs. Bruce explains that among all the selections of this album, there are three particular songs that stand out. These songs have a higher effect of making their listeners feel better as compare to the other selections. These are “Show me the Way”, “Baby I Love Your Way” and “Do You Feel Like We Do”. The glory of this album is crowned by “Do You Feel Like We Do”.

These songs were released as singles and they have persistently received a lot of air play on radio stations, especially classic rock stations. The album’s overall recorded sound is of high quality. A professional Dolby “A” noise reduction was used to record the master tapes giving clear and impressive records. There is very minimal sound congestion in the louder passages.
