Economic Turmoil and Risk of War Inserts His/Her Inserts Grade Inserts 13 April There is astrong relationship between economic turmoil and both authoritarianism and war. The research is focused on the poor and lazy asking the authoritarian, socialist, or communist government to steal the assets of the rich and give them to the poor on equal basis. The research focuses on the poor lazy few bonding together to rally the other poor and lazy people to grab the riches of the people who worked hard for their assets as well as wage war.
Economic turmoil promotes authoritarianism and war. There is a strong relationship between economic turmoil and the adoption of authoritarian regimes. Patrick Purcell (2010) emphasized the authoritarian regimes can influence the outcome of economic turmoil. The authoritarian authority does not answer to the people. The authority is concentrated on a few unelected persons. Such person implement political repressions and the elimination of other parties to freely be elected for a government position.
In some countries, the authoritarian leader forcibly takes the reigns of government from the duly elected officials. The power grabbers form a government and impressing on the people that they will intervene in the current economic turmoil by grabbing all the assets of the state and equally distributing the wealth among the people. The economic turmoil of the depression of the early 1900s increased unemployment. Michael Bernstein (1989) reiterated the economic turmoil of the 1929 depression forced many companies to close shop.
Consequently, many people lost their jobs. Consequently, the people looked at the government as the cause of their economic hardship. The poverty-stricken people are easy preys for people espousing authoritarianism. In the same light, Francisco Enrique (2008) theorized the people who are not affected by the economic turmoil will not be affected by the sweet persuasive promises of the authoritarianism –espousing personalities. The rich people will surely not accept the authoritarian leaders’ statement “we will take the money and assets of the rich and distribute the wealth to all people”.
Liberty is abolished. The rich will feel it is unfair that the authoritarian or communist government will steal their assets and other properties and distribute them to the lazy citizens. This is true especially when the lazy poor people prefer to sleep all day instead of finding work to feed their families. Authoritarian regimes have a direct hand on the outcome of the economic turmoil. The authoritarian government can use its powers to meddle in the economic affairs of the citizens. For example, the state can grab all business enterprises of the people, rich and poor.
Likewise, the authoritarian leaders of the state can dictate the outcome of any economic event. The authoritarian government can implement price controls on all goods and services. The government can offer lesser tax rates on some commodities to help the people tide over an economically depressive business environment. There is a strong relationship between economic turmoil and the risk of war. People who are hungry will try to feed their empty stomachs. The poor will always blame the rich and the government as the culprits for their empty stomachs.
The poor will band together and use force to grab the hard –earned assets of the rich. In the case of Communist China, the proletariat joined forces to kill and grab the lands, money, and other properties of the rich people. The proletariat formed a government and executed the rich. The proletariat blamed the rich for the poverty of the poor people. Specifically some of the poor people are poor because they are too lazy to work to feed their family. However, there are some persons who became rich by taking advantage of the poor people.
Likewise, there are poor people who have been victimized or abused by the persons as they increase their wealth. Based on the above discussion, Jackson Spielvogel (2011) proposed there is a strong relationship between economic turmoil and both authoritarianism and war. There is a strong relationship between economic turmoil and authoritarianism. The poor and lazy will ask the authoritarian, socialist, or communist government to grab the assets of the rich and distribute it among the poor. The poor lazy few will bond together to rally the other poor to grab the riches of the people who worked hard for their assets.
The lazy and poor few take up enough murderous courage to metamorphose their initial economic turmoil-based rally into a full scale war. The war is characterized as the poor and lazy few igniting the other poor and lazy members of society to join forces to steal the properties of the rich hardworking people, specifically, the poor members of the rallying groups will wage war to kill the rich people just to have something to eat. Indeed, economic turmoil breeds authoritarianism and ware. REFERENCES Bernstein, M. (1989). The Great Depression, 1929 -1939, New York, University Press.
