My Educational Goals - Scholarship Essay Example

Education for me is very important. Societies such as the United s and Europe have obtained a lot of wealth for its citizens due to the high level of education of the population. Approximately 40% of the US population has a college degree (Lewin). I am interested in studying a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice forensic science with an emphasis in biological science. The reason I want to combine criminal justice and biological sciences is because I want to work as forensic scientist working with DNA samples and other types of biological evidence samples.

Due to the increase in criminality in the United States there is high demand for employees with specialize skills I will have once I graduate from college. I am a very dedicated and hard working person. I like helping others. During my time at college I will look for volunteering opportunities by inquiring local churches, governmental institutions, and non-profits. I want to learn as much as I can during my time in college. In college students learn from their interaction with students, professors, and non-faculty staff inside and outside the classroom.

I want to study a career in criminal justice because I want to make a difference in society through my work efforts. In the United States there were a total of 10.63 million crimes committed in 2009 (Disastercenter). I am very motivated to start my college career. I know that is will a lot of sacrifice and commitment, but I am ready for the challenge of becoming a full time college student.
