Critical Response Paper #2 ID Lecturer Frederick did not have prior knowledge of the at hand. He did not know what was deemed as right or wrong for him and hence claiming something on his part which is tantamount to bringing disrepute to the school, its students, teachers and the administrators is not understandable by any means. Further, the fact that this activity was more of an entertainment one makes the subject even less critical, as Frederick has been given the benefit of the doubt and is told to be free as of today (Burns & Peyrot, 2010).
He cannot be ruled upon until and unless the school authorities tell him clearly the division between the right and the wrong, which in this scenario was not to be. The suspension of Frederick is nullified as it did not cross the ethical and moral boundaries. What it did was to inculcate among others Frederick’s own sentiments which were flawed in their own right. He did not know what he was inculcating, and hence is not charged for the same. Had he known he was doing something irresponsible, and still committed to the act, he would have been charged in a manner which was seemingly fit.
Therefore I acquit Frederick of any charges against him which are a result of the hate that exists in line with drugs and their usage. I give him the margin as he can spend his life with a sense of understanding and people shall empathize with him in the coming times. In all fairness and going by the rule of law, Frederick stands not guilty and is therefore free from all charges and banishments against him. References Burns, S. L. & Peyrot, M., 2010.
