"Perioperative Nursing" is a perfect example of a paper on care. The presentation evaluates Perioperative Nursing as one of the crucial areas of nursing. Perioperative nursing is operating room nursing is a career path that involves providing health care to patients who are to undergo operative procedures (Spry, 2009). One of the areas of education required for perioperative nursing is a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Also, an associated degree in nursing is also effective. Furthermore, a hospital diploma is also suitable.

The presentation acknowledges the fact that on-the-job training is a relevant issue that enables access to education in perioperative nursing. There are various real and possibilities for the development of Perioperative nursing. One of the real possibilities for the development of Perioperative nursing is based on the fact that registration agencies and employers in Australia and also globally are emphasizing the need for professional development and continuing education as a mandatory activity.

Another real possibility for the development of perioperative nursing is to ensure that there is a match between the skills that are required in the operating room and perioperative nursing skills. The hypothetical possibility for the development of perioperative nursing is based on the fact that nurses have the tendency of making long-term changes in their careers by venturing into other specialties. This, therefore, implies that the possibilities for development are hypothetical (HWIP, 2010).

How economic rationalization of healthcare influences organizational and/clinical funding Economic rationalization of healthcare rationalization affects organizational and/clinical funding. One of the ways through which economic rationalization influences organizational/clinical funding is in the sense that it may lead to an increase in health care expenditure or funding (Elm& Willich, 2008).Economic rationalization also requires that expansive or extensive structural changes are made to the health care system.

This, therefore, implies that changes will have to be made in the funding system for instance through adopting proper coordination of hospital funds also more emphasis may also be placed on providing funds for developing preoperative nursing in the organization(Elm& Willich,2008).How perioperative nursing meets consumer requirements, partnerships, and collaborations.Perioperative nursing meets consumer requirements by ensuring that the consumers are provided with quality healthcare services.

Furthermore, perioperative nursing meets consumer requirements by acting as a patient advocate. Also to partnerships and collaborations that deal with the management of the healthcare organization, perioperative nursing facilitates the lowering of costs in terms of employing more nurses. This is because a nurse can work in other multidisciplinary areas and at the same time be in the perioperative nursing section. The rationale for the need and value of Perioperative nursingPerioperative nursing is a very crucial area of nursing based on the fact that a surgeon in the operating process can not work alone.

Also, Perioperative nursing is a valuable area because it ensures that surgical patients are fully cared for. Surgery is basically a scary moment for patients as a result there is a need for the patient to feel that they are fully cared for. Relevant recruitment and retention issues concerning Perioperative nursingKneedler and Dodge (1994) highlight that many organizations tend to discourage perioperative nursing care based on the fact that it requires additional staffing. However is if perioperative nursing is evaluated using a more philosophical approach, stakeholders in health care should view the practice as important as result recruitment and retention of staff is important.

There is also a need for increased recruitment of perioperative nurses; this is because there is an increased demand for nurses in the operating rooms has increased due to the increase in the number of people who require an operation. In most cases, the existing perioperative nurses are under much strain (Kenley, 1998). In addition, in order to retention the perioperative nurses staff there is a need for positive reinforcement in terms of the provision of good rewards such as; increasing their remuneration, provision of bonuses, and work-life balance programs.

Retain of the employee can also be attained by the creation of a friendly working environment for the employees for instance an adequate cooperative environment with the surgeons. (Association Of Perioperative Registered Nurses AORN, 2008).The perioperative nurses should also be provided with an opportunity to advance their careers by acquiring post nursing degrees in perioperative nursing. The nurses should also gain a stronger representation within the management level. This will ensure that their needs are well catered for.
