Watson was born on June 1940 and graduated from the Lewis Gale School of Nursing. She further studied at the University of Colorado earning a B.S., M.S. and a PhD she has nine honorary doctoral degrees awarded from six countries and has written the following among others works. “Nursing: The Philosophy and Science of Caring.”  She has a particular interest in nursing and human caring.

Watson’s book Human Caring Science: was originally published in 1988 and later edited in 1999. The book bears her original ideas, and the publishers of the first issue also did the next making the work authentic. The tone of the book is earnest and friendly, and issues related to plagiarism were countered through the rewriting of the entire document with the initial ideas expressed via different approaches.

She states that the purpose of the book is to solve some conceptual and philosophical problems about nursing that are in the mindset. She intended the message to reach all people as caregiving is a universal task. Watson’s work brought rejuvenation in the nursing sector, and her writings are widely essential for all caregivers.

Robyn Rice is a Disciple and Worldwide Representative of Master Sha. Born in the 1960s, she studied nursing and has been in the healthcare profession for over 21 years. She has participated in many public forums and lectures in different universities. She has over ten publications, for instance, “Home Health Nursing Practice: Concepts & Application.”

The author has an interest in nursing and caregiving to patients at home. This book was first published in 1992but later edited for the fourth edition in 2006. The copyright logo indicates the authenticity of the book. The author uses an informative tone and plagiarisms were eliminated during the subsequent edits.

The aim of the book is to provide guidelines on the way to nurse a patient at home thus providing similar treatment as they would have got from the hospital. It was mostly targeted to the nurses but also the ordinary caregivers would benefit greatly from it.

Apart from the health practitioners, this is a book for every individual to possess. It’s a step by step guide and would be quite resourceful for those intending to practice medicine.

Techniques for the Identification of Essential Information from these Sources

The two sources provided different information about the study and, therefore, were examined separately. The main techniques used in the identification of information in the first source was scanning and skimming through the sources. These helped in the fast recognition of keywords and phrases in the sources that were recorded via concept mapping and outlining. These key phrases were arranged together and notes made accordingly.

In the second source, the essential information was identified by searching for keywords. The reason was due to the document in the form of a pdf thus easy to search using the computer database. With the keywords, information was quickly identified leading to the main points. These points joined to the keywords and phrases held the vital information, ideas, events and facts that were arranged sequentially after listing them and clustering the notes under different subheadings.
Analytical Skills in Use

For the first source, a gathering of information, analyzing the information, organizing the data, condensing and summarizing them are some of the skills used in tackling the problem. The analytical skills aided in the effective scrutiny of the source as it was complex and enabled us to answer the questions without leaving out the critical points from the source.

For the second source, visualization and observation were the primary techniques used for the analysis of this source. The reason was due to major headings and subheadings that lead one straight to the points and ideas brought forth by the author. Therefore, lesser scrutiny skills were required as compared to the first source.
