"The Role of Nurse Leaders in Healthcare Re-Engineering" is a worthy example of a paper on care.
Health care re-engineering has become necessary because of the inefficiencies in the healthcare sector that have resulted in poor healthcare delivery and loss of resources. Nurse managers have a role to play because nurses are the center of healthcare delivery and any changes must include them. The nurse manager has a role to play in terms of advocating for nursing needs as well as patients' needs. for nurses to deliver, they have to work in a harmonious working environment. this environment is also conducive for patient recovery. Therefore, nurse leaders have to represent such needs in healthcare reengineering. They have to provide a rationale for healthcare engineering in terms of meeting the needs of nurses that will ensure better outcomes in terms of healthcare delivery especially for patients (Wall, Novak, & Wilkerson, 2005).

Continuous quality improvement (CQI) is an aspect comprising of quality assurance, quality improvement, and problem resolution. CQI is the responsibility of all nurses and is important when addressing the challenges of the healthcare sector. In my current position, I will apply QCI by improving the quality of care for patients in my workplace. Patients experience delays because of slow and ineffective machines services, such as old computers at the reception. I will change this by proposing the purchase of new and modern computers that will enable quick registration and online transfer of files from one department to the other so that patients can be attended to quickly. This will improve healthcare delivery. This will ensure that delays are eliminated and that certain services are automated to save time (Melichar, 2011).

Clinical nurse leader (CNL) is an emerging nursing role that was developed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) in collaboration with professionals in the nursing field. A CNL supervises the lateral integration of care for a distinct group of patients and is only involved in direct patient care in special cases. The educational preparation of a CNL features acquiring education at the master’s degree level because a CNL must have a high level of knowledge and clinical competence and bring these to a point of care. Thus, a CNL nurse must have a master’s degree with a major in nursing. This will prepare them for practice in the profession. The CNL directly influences patient care in a hospital for instance when the CLN nurse applies his or her knowledge and competence to treat patients or a patient put in a group considered as special (Reid & Dennison, 2011).

A nurse can implement several advocacy strategies to create change in his or her current workplace. the first strategy is to build relationships with managers and workmates. This will provide the necessary support when advocating for change. Secondly, I will use communication to ensure that all the people needed to implement the change process to understand the change clearly. Thirdly, I will gather the information required for the change. When advocating for change, it is important that the agent of change understands all the aspects of the change and that can lead the process by advocating for it. understanding the issue at hand is an important strategy because it enables the advocator to address any questions and concerns about the change (Tomajan, 2012).
