Extract of sample "Measures to Reduce Hypothermia"

"Measures to Reduce Hypothermia" is a wonderful example of a paper on care. Hypothermia occurs when the body loses heat more than it can produce. This causes a drop in body temperature. The normal body temperature is around 36.5–37.5 °C and is usually maintained through thermoregulation and homeostasis. When the temperature falls below 35.0 °C hypothermia results, in characterized shivering, and mental confusion as to the heart, nervous system, and other organs cannot function normally. If left untreated it can result to complete heart and respiratory failure resulting in death therefore it is very important to provide measures of reducing the condition by providing warmth to the body (Turk, 2010).
