Questions that may arise with regard to taking care of Jeff taking into consideration the Bureaucratic Theory of Nursing Practice

  • What could be challenges faced by Jeff’s recovery process in an environment characterized by elderly and less active patients?
  • What could be the solutions to Jeff’s constant request to meet his parents?
  • Could there be any psychological challenges arising from the fact that Jeff had been arrested in his early years as a teenager? Does the presence of the Sheriff at the recovery center affect his recovery process?
  • Could there be cognitive challenges created by pain from his previous surgery?
  • Does the boredom claimed by Jeff have any significant effect on his recovery process? How could it be reduced?

Intervention that can be made on a Partnership Jeff’s Nurses and the Nurse Manager

To begin with, the Nurse Manager and Jeff’s Nurses can focus on intervention geared towards creating a conducive environment for Jeff in order to promote positive psychological processes on him, thereby improving the rate of his recovery process. Specifically, this process can involve creating a timetable or a time schedule where Jeff’s Nurses play with him offer psychological encouragement in order to prevent his boredom.

Additionally, the nurses can work in partnership in a dimension whereby they work in turns basically checking on Jeff’s wounds and providing reports of progress, that indicate areas of improvement and challenges faced, thereby facilitating the generation of early solutions to identified challenges. On the other hand, the nurse manager and Jeff’s nurses can work hand-in-hand, in an effort to exchanges and share ideas with regard to various ways through, which they can improve Jeff’s condition.

Intervention Plan Reflecting Bureaucratic and Caring in the Case-Study

Creating a Conducive Environment for Jeff

There are challenges that may arise when Jeff is exposed to an environment where there are only elderly patients. This could be boring and may even make Jeff feel out of place. In this regard, Jeff can be subjected to an environment where he feels more comfortable and at ease for instance; creating a time-table where he is regularly visited by his family. In addition, creating such kind of environment would reduce incidences of psychological challenges faced by Jeff, especially when he keeps asking for his parents.

Cognitive Counseling Sessions

The case study indicates that Jeff had been held in a correctional facility at some point. Moreover, there is a Sheriff at the hospital. This could create negative cognitive processes on Jeff, thus jeopardizing his recovery process. In this regard, Jeff can be subjected to frequent psychological counseling majorly focusing on encouraging him and informing him that he is not on the wrong side of the law. The counseling sessions can also be facilitated by his family members by frequently visiting him at the hospital as a means of encouragement and a show of unity.

Nursing Surgery Wounds

The nurses in charge of taking care of Jeff can also facilitate his recovery process through, provision of frequent and constant care on his wounds. This process should focus on the provision of the right medication at the recommended time and writing reports of progress for purposes of follow-up.

Follow-Up

The follow-up should be conducted, taking into specific consideration the information indicated in the follow-up report. The follow-up process shall involve making improvements in relation to the identified challenges as well as other complications that Jeff might face.
