"Pneumonia and Home Nursing " is an engrossing example of a paper on care.
The nursing study about Pneumonia and Home nursing was studies by Carusone C. and Leob M. as well as Lohfeld and published on January 23, 2006, in BMC geriatrics journal. The research scope is oriented on the premise that pneumonia patients in a nursing home are regularly sent for additional hospital treatments and care.

Theme

The research was aimed at determining the preference of care of residences and members of the family concerning long-term facility care. The primary study subjects include aged adults, their colleagues, members of the family, and medical caregivers. Decisions about, when, and where patients can obtain Long-term Clinical Facilities do not entirely depend on the health care giver’s control. This study focuses on LTCF care for Pneumonia affected patients and to explores the patient's and their family member’s preferences of the issue. The main concern is to comprehend their views to expand quality care facilities and services to residents at home, (Carusone, Loeb & Lohhfed, 2006).

Methodology

The researchers employ a qualitative, descriptive nursing research design to investigate the patients and their members of the family preferences. The subjects or informants who included members of the family of the pneumonia patients and the patients themselves were chosen from an enormous randomized controlled clinical pathway trial too, control home-based pneumonia care received on-site. The researchers interviewed the participants and later analyzed the gathered information through editing style to determine the main themes.

To determine the utility and efficiency of employing a rule, for nursing at home – acquired pneumonia, the study used the multi-centered unsystematic method. The rule provided a series of pneumonia signs and symptoms for care providers to select the right method in managing the condition. The twenty selected nursing homes in Southern Ontario were needed to adhere to the treatment track based on the protocol. Similarly, another group was to follow the typical exercise of care to manage and diagnose pneumonia, (Carusone, Loeb & Lohhfed, 2006).

The role of researchers

The key role of the researcher is to conduct qualitative team, and personal interviews to provide answers to questions about how to gather data. In other words, researchers are the instrument to interact and collaborate with study subjects and collect data by themselves. Researchers also take part in participant observation to relate the reality and coherence of interview information and answers, (Poirrier & Oberleitner, 1999). They analyze data, conversation, and other appropriate strategies from ethnographic and social studies.

Results

The study outcomes revealed that patients and their members of family supported home nursing to start pneumonia treatment. Both patients and their relatives wanted healthcare providers and hospital professionals to first inquire from them before making decisions to hospitalize pneumonia sufferers. These results reveal that home nursing management ought to implement mechanisms, which minimize hospitalization of the patients, (Carusone, Loeb & Lohhfed, 2006). These mechanisms involve combining technological developments and severe illness treatment such as pneumonia. These strategies will ensure that patients are prevented from exposure to other related health threats.

Why authors chose the methodology

The methodology was fundamental to provide answers to various areas of concern of nursing with patients’ response to practical and potential health challenges. The methodology helped to obtain useful insights into patients and their family member’s attitudes, systems of values, behaviors, issues, expectations, traditions, and concerns, (Poirrier & Oberleitner, 1999). Finally, the approach aimed to gain an intensive understanding of people’s behavior and the rationale that directs such behavior.

Conclusion

The research outcomes reveal that interventions to minimize hospitalization pneumonia patients are constant with the preference of nursing home patients and their members of the family.
