"Disseminating Evidence" is a great example of a paper on care.
Dissemination of research findings or evidence is the most crucial step after project completion; thus, an effective dissemination plan must be oriented towards the needs and levels of information and language of the audience, include various dissemination methods such as written texts and oral presentations, and maximize existing resources (Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, 2012, 1-2). After imitating application of research-based evidence/findings of current practice to improve treatment of pressure ulcers that are not effective in the facility, the author plans to disseminate the results of the project to the key stakeholders and to the greater nursing community through dissemination planning form, author briefing form for a press release, press release template, research summary, research brief, newsletter, and thank you letter (Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, 2012, 10).

Upon completion of the project, the author found out that the conservative therapy using gauze for treatment of pressure ulcers was not effective in the facility and that the moist bioactive dressing with hydrophilic mucopolysaccharide improved treatment of pressure ulcers in the facility. The project title would be “It’s Time to Innovate and Heal the Sores! The Used of Moist Bioactive Dressing Increased Healing Rate and Saved Costs among Health Facilities”. The project start and end dates, as well as the project coordinator, will also be included in the dissemination plan. The goal of the project was to conduct a follow-up study comparing pressure ulcer healing rates and costs among patients treated with conservative treatment and moist bioactive dressing. The research summary included findings from Kordestani et al. (2008) which showed a statistically significant relationship between conservative and bioactive dressing groups (p. 323) and the results of the observation of the author.

Key stakeholders in the project might include project funding agency (JEX KK Company in the U.S.), university partners, organizational partners (National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, NPUAP), individual collaborators (doctor, nurses, dietitians, social worker, pharmacist, and occupational therapist) and research participants. Dissemination of findings to project funding agency, university partners, organizational partners, and individual collaborators will be through submission of manuscripts, study newsletter, press release and research summary documents in accredited journals (e.g., JAMA, AJN, and Journal of Wound Care) whereas dissemination of findings to research participants may take the forms of community forums or health affairs, conference or workshop, letter of thanks to studying participants with study update, and giving of flyers and posters with research briefs.

Of all the dissemination of findings methods stated above, the publication of research findings to accredited nursing journals would be the best method to disseminate findings to the greater nursing community. This is because nurses of today’s generation are actively involved in implementing evidence-based findings derived from accredited nursing journals. In addition, publication to the accredited and highest-ranked journals are likely to attract broad interest and media coverage because these journals described significant results (Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, 2012, 4).

Creating a dissemination plan not only to the nursing community but to the general public as well as contributing to the improvement of care.
