"What Is a Professional Nurse?" is an engrossing example of a paper on care.
Nursing is the optimization, protection, and promotion of health and capabilities, prevention of injury and illness, mitigation of pain through the identification and treatment of human reactions, and support in the care of populations (Timofeeva, 2002). Professional nurses have unbending patient advocacy and care for people of different cultural backdrops and ages who are ill or healthy. I have a passion for nursing and an underlying compassion for the aged. As a nurse, I would like to explore gerontology more in-depth as I study nursing in preparation for my future practice and involvement as a healthcare professional. I would strive to enhance my understanding of age-related diseases and their treatments, with opportunities offered at Concordia University Irvine.

Timofeeva (2002) argues that a nurse has a duty for the welfare of the patient in the nurse's observation. In addition, a nurse should possess critical thinking skills to make the right decision and effective communication skills. Proficiency in nursing knowledge and competence enables the nurses to perform frequent checkups or observing of the patient's condition and statistics and to account for the same to the right people. I acquired experience working as a live-in volunteer at Kingsley Manor, a retirement community in Los Angeles, having about 250 people. I am responsible for conducting classes, including Tai Chi and art, assisting with events for residents, and maintaining patient charts in the assisted living facility. Working at Kingsley Manor gave me a chance to understand more about aging and health.

The nursing profession has different specialties, and I have an interest in gerontology. During my formal training in gerontology, my core objective is to have a vocation in the field of medicine and ultimately as a nurse practitioner. Nursing offers me a greater potential to incorporate my previous experiences into the health sector, so as provide holistic care for patients requiring time and quality interactions. In my previous studies, in gerontology, I have gained remarkable comprehension about aging, majoring in physical, mental, and social transformations that occur over time and how these can impact health. Therefore, I will strive to increase my understanding of age-related diseases and their treatments, with opportunities offered at Concordia University Irvine.

The care they provide depends on the psychological, physical, and emotional requirements of the individual. The nursing profession integrates nursing theory, social science, technology, and physical science in providing care to those persons Specifically the knowledge acquired will enable me to develop integrated health programs that cater to the needs, and requirements of a different aging population through my Eastern and Western education. In addition, the training will offer me a well-rounded insight into the aging process and health-related diseases, and their treatments that I can employ as I endeavor to develop my skills and prepare to practice nursing.

The main objective of the nursing profession is to make certain that quality health care is available to individuals while upholding their code of ethics, competencies, and standards, and continuing their learning (Timofeeva, 2002). My ultimate goal is always to be learning so I can give the best health-care possible for my patients. I am positive that the knowledge of the profession I will get from Concordia University Irvine coupled with my previous education and experiences, will give exceptional treatments and policies that join the excellence of the two diverse worlds for a distinctive experience of my future patients. The prestige of having accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing education will provide my future patients the confidence that I am capable of providing them with the highest quality health care.
