"Flexible" child temperament and "permissive" parenting Temperament carries on into a child’s adolescent and adulthood where the parents have the power to shape them through interaction and parenting styles. A flexible child temperament allows the parent to influence the child easily. These children are adaptable, in positive moods, regular in their biological rhythms, and approachable. Parenting styles that are considered permissive in nature arise where the parent trusts their instinct and are affectionate, flexible, and attentive to the needs of the children (Richters 20).

The permissive parents are able to act as friends to their children and the children with the flexible temperament work with the parent developing a plethora of room for the development and growth of the kids. The children consider their parents as warm and low in control to indicate high levels of trust, and the child is able to confide in the parent (Richters 22). On the other hand, children of the highly permissive parenting style may end up lacking the necessary self-control since the parents expect nothing from them.

The flexible children with permissive parents become impulsive and may live life with no definite direction. Children with flexible temperaments and with permissive parents develop into domineering and stubborn adults who do anything to achieve what they desire. The behavior gets developed due to the parent’s understanding nature. However, parents with permissive parenting styles with children with flexible temperament give more attention to their children’s activity while maintaining a distance not to control most aspects (Richters 22-23).
