Health Policy Issues in Changing Environments Affiliation: The context for framing APNs policy issues are cost, quality and access. All the three are important as they go hand in hand in ensuring that the APNs are in a position to provide the best services they can to their patients no matter the country they are in. It may be argued that quality is the best but with quality and no access or with quality being provided at a very high cost that is unaffordable to many, then the policy will not be helpful at all.

All the three contexts must be considered as important and addressed simultaneously during the time of policy making for the health care as issues that affect framing of the APNs. The country does not matter as long as the three are incorporated in the policy. Every APN should have the skill to be a policy maker. This is a necessary skill because an APN is not like any ordinary nurse and is almost at the same level with doctors and hence policy making should be an important aspect in their career.

Health policymaking provides a platform to make positive changes in the health field which will be beneficial to the patients’ as well as the APNs and every APN should aim at being included in the process of making a difference in the health care field. Policy making also provides the courage and practice to be in leadership position and no APN should want to pass this chance as it shows the skills and abilities the APNs possess setting them apart from regular RNs (Hamric, Hanson, Tracy and OGrady, 2014).
