When done properly, Green, Johnson and Adams (2006) confirmed that the process of undergoing “narrative overviews can be a valuable contribution to the literature”. In general, mental health nurses are accountable for the quality of treatment and care they deliver to their patients. Throughout the United Kingdom, individuals who are currently working as mental health nurses are obliged to follow the guidelines stipulated under the Mental Health Act (2007)

To guide the mental health nurses on what to do as they play a proactive role within the mental health care system, this group of professionals are expected to follow the procedures and practices stipulated under the NICE Guidelines, the National Service Framework for Mental Health, The Capable Practitioner (2001), The National Occupational Standards for Mental Health (2004), The Ten Essential Shared Capabilities (2004), and the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) (1995) (Health and Safety Executive, 2012; Hughes, 2006; Hope, 2004). ...Download file to see next pages Read More
