Talents as an example of an innate potential has the ability to revolutionize an individual’s fortunes. Numerous people have lived successful lives by capitalizing on their talents. The size of the football among other sport related industry and the entertainment industry in the United States for example portrays the ability of an individual making successful lives by capitalizing on their talents (Elliot 44).

However, Steve Jobs explains the need for discipline in order to develop successful careers not only in talent-based industries but also in life as a whole. Discipline is a personality feature that influences the conducts of people. Despite the freedoms that people enjoy, the structure of the society requires people to uphold numerous personality features in order to enhance the freedoms and liberties. Discipline thus enables people to acknowledge the need to respect the values of the society thus enabling the people to uphold peace and stability required in order for people to realize their dreams despite their unfortunate positions in the society.
