The laboratory already has proper systems in place ensuring that the project can be safely and adequately carried out. The researchers, along with the supervisors have ensured that the proper procedures are understood and known by all participants in case any adverse events or consequences from the experiment arise. In order to ensure this, the following guidelines shall be followed: This project aims to determine the effect of smoking on the plasma concentration in smokers. It aims to evaluate if smokers have a greater risk of developing atherosclerosis due to the effects of smoking on their blood.

Through this determination, it is hoped that a more scientifically and evidence-based recommendation can be made on the hazards of smoking.
