The mind has the power to make an instant analysis of the situation (Ruggiero 2003). In business, it is regarded as a useful tool in the decision making process. Some of the business decisions usually require fast feedback in order to take advantage of an available opportunity. However, there may not be enough time to make a logical analysis of the opportunity cost, and the business owner will have to rely on intuition in order to determine the course of action to be taken. It is different from the other three styles of creative reasoning in the sense that it does not require time to contemplate over a particular thought.
The innovative style is mainly concerned with problem solving. It is usually methodical and data dependent whereby the existing information plays a significant role in determining the level of innovativeness. A person becomes innovative through exploration of a wide range of individual intelligences moving above the normal IQ (Lizbeth 2006). Once an individual is capable of identifying his/her intelligences, enhance them and use them in exploiting available opportunities and problem solving, innovativeness is achieved.
In business, it is a significant intangible asset that yields tangible benefits. This is because innovative investors are capable of identifying profitable opportunities and are also able to solve difficult problems facing them. Innovativeness in business also helps in creating new products and services, methods and investments. It helps in making predictions in regard to the future changes in the market, as well as engaging in mutual relationships that are significant for the success of the business.
