suppose if we won’t be to get access to the sites because of legal constraint and the monopoly of some private companies or suppose the constraints are imposed by any nation what will happen? This is the major burning issue related to the ownership of internet. In the past few years It has been suggested by the giant telecom companies that they should be given authority to charge the content provider companies like Google and Yahoo for supplying the data to the consumers via there DSL/cable lines.

And the access for the sites will be available only to those who will pay to the telecom companies. If such thing really happens then it would not be possible for all internet users to get access to the sites because they won’t be able to afford the charges for accessibility. It is the US Government which wants to hold ultimate control on Domain Name System through which it can have extensive power over the entire internet. But US dominance is objected by many other countries. Further it is the demand that the control of internet should be in the hands of United Nations (UN) or International Telecom Union (ITU) Of course if US decides, it could have the legal claim.

The reason is that internet is invented and funded by United States itself. There is a strong debate on the issue of internet neutrality. Well, what is the internet neutrality then? The concept has been defined as “a broadband network free of restrictions on the kinds of equipment that may be attached and the modes of communication allowed, and where communication was not unreasonably degraded by other communication streams.” (Net Neutrality: Online Publishers Providing Little Backing To The Network Neutrality Campaign) When US Congress argues the advantages and disadvantages of internet neutrality, many companies which are dependent upon the internet for their business will be in trouble.
