This paper provides a detailed study on effective way of class room management. It outlines various views of different researchers on better practices of behavior management. Motivation, the innate part of modern management system, is an effective tool that can bring out tremendous changes in both students learning and discipline attitudes. Motivated students tend to co-operate with lessons and create a positive learning atmosphere. Not only teachers, but parents also need to motivate their children.
Many researches show that a great majority of students misbehave because they may face social or family problems, mental disorder and so on. Motivating these set of students will make them feel committed and interested towards the classroom learning. Emma McDonald’s article published on Education World analyzes some motivational tools that can be implemented in classroom.
She emphasizes that implementing reward system as a motivational tool can be tricky (McDonald E, 2008), but teachers need to be careful in planning it. According to Linda Darling Hammond, “helping students to identify what motivates them is also an important part of being learner-centered” (Hammond L D, p 60) Emma McDonald states that “A reward program is the procedure you use to encourage and record desired behaviors and to distribute rewards” (McDonald E, 2008). Planning the effective learning in which the student is highly motivated through reward or any other system requires sufficient knowledge and skill in both subject contents to be taught and the child.
