Mostly, other members of the society recognize and confirm the existence of an individual, and therefore, non-recognition may result in a kind of injury that is often included in the context of social violence. (Whitehead, 2004) For instance, when the expressed wishes of an individual or a group of individuals are not listened or recognized by the other members of the society; they end up in the expression through violence, which is considered a means of seeking attention among the individuals of the society.
Terrorism, rape, burglary, theft, media violence, linguistic violence, harassment, etc. are some of the acts of violence that have affected the society in the sociological perspective.
