The president in the country has made it his job to censor anyone giving out information which to him is demeaning to the government in Khartoum. Envoys of different countries as well those send there by the UN have been given marching orders by the president when they happen to dig deeper to what is happening to the majority in this country in the Horn of Africa. Another example is what is happening in Iran where anti-government activists are being hanged and others imprisoned without trial not forgetting the current crisis in Zimbabwe, had it not been for the internet, then Mugabe would have succeeded in his endeavors against the opposition leading to blood shed in the Southern Africa country.

However, the internet has played a very important role in making sure that all is un-masked for the world to see leading to many demonstrations and social conflicts. This translates to the fact that, the people of the world believe the internet as a tool for communicating in situations where such freedom is non-existent. In Africa, the internet has opened up a new opportunity in terms of freedom of expression. To him, the media plays a bigger role in development in that, it is there is to aid peoples opinions be heard by sponsors and by other interested parties all over the globe.

The media sponsor debates on the vital topics and often is a forum where people explain points, justify actions and influence decisions which are made by politicians as they prepare the way their countries will follow. To be able to do this, the media needs advanced media techniques so as to be able to reach each and every interested party. In this regard, the internet comes into play as the only way through which news can reach large group of people as once. Before the internet was made the way of communication in the whole world, letters, newspapers, TVs and other ancient means of communication where being used.
