The first article, by Camus, argues rather weakly that Israel does have a right to exist as a feeling that’s held even among those Jews who are also in favor of the existence of a Palestinian state that the world has yet to prove it is not wholly anti-Semite; a concept that can only be proved by granting the Jews the right to have their own state and by ceasing the condemnation of Jews elsewhere in the world for their support of their country. The second article, written by Anti-Apartied, Pro-Justice and Pro-Equality, a group of webloggers, presents a more logical argument against the right of Israel to exist by first claiming that no country has a right to exist – pointing to Palestine as an example of a country that was not provided with any specific right to exist – and then claiming that a large proportion of justifications claimed by Israel for world-wide support of Israel and contempt of Palestine are simply false.
Because of the more rambling nature of Camus’ article, his argument in favor of Israel’s right to exist becomes synonymous with the idea of Jews having a right to exist and relies heavily upon the concept of world guilt in persecuting this group of people regardless of where they live or how they feel regarding the issue for a mere difference in religion, therefore gaining more weight than it might have held otherwise. The article of the webloggers gains its strength from the detailed arguments regarding each of what they term myths regarding the takeover of Israel by the Jews, including the way in which they were awarded the land, the number of countries who agreed to give them this land as well as their national makeup, the tremendous influence of the United States in obtaining this agreement at the time and since, the amount of land awarded to the Jews versus the amount and placement of land claimed and the involvement of Arab armies in
