From Slavery to Freedom After a long period of searching throughout the world, Doro finally gets to find his lost friend and slave, Anyanwu who had earlier turned herself into a dolphin and lived in waters for quite a long period of time, afraid of Doro’s injustices. By then Anyanwu had already formulated her own village that she was in charge of, with siblings possessing extraordinary powers such as the power to convert from one bodily form to another and from human into animal characters. Once again, due to the fact that Anyanwu is a woman and African in particular, Doro takes full control and wins her back to himself and exercises full control on whom she breeds with in order to obtain a wide range of mutants.

By this time, Doro had already made use of several body forms of different individuals, some of whom were mutants as a result of the initial crossbreeds between Doro and Anyanwu. Due to these molecular interactions, Doro attained a new trait in that he now acquired the quality of being able to survive in foreign bodies without necessarily causing the death of the victim. Most if his victims were mutants, who had also acquired immortality and were resistant to death even when Doro wished that they would finally die if he no longer needed them.

Due to genetic mutations acquired as time went by and Doro continued to possess other people’s bodies Doro can now no longer kill his former hosts regardless of the fact that his inhumane nature tells him that this is not a positive change. Because of the fact that Doro can no longer influence the termination of the lives of the hosts, Anyanwu attains freedom and is now capable of choosing what to do and what not to do without the fear that Doro may enter her body and cause her death. After a short period of time, Anyanwu decides to leave America and its new ways of life believed to be modernization and civilization and returns to West Africa.

There, she formulates her own village and breeds her siblings which possessed unique qualities, including the parental quality of immortality while Doro remains in the new world after his efforts to lure Anyanwu into staying failed to bear fruits. Synopsis In the new book, there has been a change of occurrences as compared to what actually was the situation in the first four books of the Wild Seed. Doro’s capacity to get rid of the victims that he uses as hosts in order to ensure that his immortality continues to manifest according to this fourth book is lost due to genetic variations as time goes by.

It is evident from the book and the behaviours associated with Doro thereafter that Doro is not happy with the fact that his victims do not automatically die when they get old. The book is a reflection of the future scientific world after the last three series of Wild Seed which have already discussed scientific issues that are happening in the current fields of biology and biotechnology. While the first three patterns focus on the use of hosts to grow new lives as observed in scientific cloning of cells in other hosts, the fourth series brings up the idea of genetic mutations caused by foreign DNA molecules within the biological systems of the hosts (Donald 3).

Such mutations will pose a great threat to the hosts, especially now that scientists are focusing on using human hosts in the field of biotechnology (Donald 4). Works Cited Johnston, Donald J.
