In addition to the effects on personality traits, cyberbullying has adverse effects on the individual’s professional life and job performance. Since internet abuse and bullying is permanent on the web and visible to any people, victims feel that they cannot escape the bullying. The other psychological construct associated with cyberbullying is its effects on the victim’s emotions. Cyberbullying may have effects on victims’ emotions and usually manifests in feelings of frustration, anger, and sadness.

All these emotional damages can have detrimental effects on the victims’ psychological wellbeing. The attitudes and lifestyle of people in the workplace may also change due to cyberbullying. Among the most common constructs that may arise due to cyberbullying, including depressive symptoms, drug abuse and even negative attitudes towards other people. Such effects occur because the victims experience high levels of distress. In addition to anger, the other crucial emotional construct evident among victims of cyberbullying include loneliness and depression.

In the workplace, cyberbullying may result in tension and frustration among the victims. The effects may be extreme to the extent that they may affect the overall productivity of these employees (Rivituso, 2012). Therefore, it is the mandate of employers and managers to ensure that they tackle cyberbullying in the workplace.
