Bachelors Degree in Medicine and Surgery - Admission/Application Essay Example

Currently, I am continuing with my Ph.D. project at a village in Kuwait with at least 40 participants who suffer from type 2 diabetes. The aim is to evaluate the impact of the group-based intervention and assess the patient’s empowerment ability to promote self-management. By coming to the seminar, it will be easy for me to relate the results I have attained to-date and understand what I am doing wrong. I will also be able to learn about the descriptive epidemiology, types of descriptive epidemiologic studies and the best way of implementing these in Kuwait.

With a prevalence rate of 21% globally, Kuwait needs great assistance in dealing with diabetes. This seminar will be an eye-opener and a good way of training my fellow doctors who would like to see a reduction in the type 2 diabetes rates in the country. I am looking forward to effecting change in my country so that I can help more people have healthy lifestyles while at the same time enjoying their health with nutritious indigenous foods.
